Rhos-on-Sea mum Rebecca Sheen is immensely proud of her schoolboy son Charlie who has decided to run the equivalent of almost three London Marathons over a period of just four-weeks, to help raise essential funds for the Liverpool based Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, where his sister has previously attended and received treatment.

Charlie’s parents, family and friends, are obviously very supportive of his efforts, and have created a special JustGiving charity appeal page to receive any donations and have confirmed the details on social media.

*And next Saturday, Charlie is hoping to be accompanied on his run by world champion boxer Natasha Jonas. Rebecca added: "We are finishing Charlie's run next Sunday, we are trying to get the community to come down and support and give him a cheer on completion. We have decided to start at Llandudno Pier at 2pm next Sunday and finish at the Coast Cafe in Rhos on Sea."

In a Facebook appeal she confirmed: “My son Charlie is running 75-miles for Alder Hey Charity. He will be running up and down the Rhos on Sea promenade for the next few weeks. If you see him running, feel free to cheer him on, as he runs by. If anyone wants to sponsor Charlie on his run or contribute to the charity, please follow the link. Thanks for your support and for sharing.”

This is the news update and the family story about Charlie on his JustGiving page: -

Thank you for taking the time to visit and read through our page. My son Charlie Sheen, who is 11-years old, is embarking on an extraordinary journey - a 75-mile run over 4 weeks to raise funds for Alder Hey Children's Hospital.

This distance is equivalent to running nearly three London Marathons. His motivation stems from his personal experience, as his sister was recently a patient and treated at the hospital.

We asked Charlie why he wanted to do this run and replied: ‘He wants to do this run to help towards treatment and to purchase toys which help take the children's mind off things whilst receiving treatment.’

Charlie is aiming to raise £2,000 for this charity. Your contribution will directly impact the lives of those who rely on Alder Hey Children's Hospital for care and support. Every donation, no matter the amount, brings us closer to our target and closer to making a real difference in the lives of these children. Together, we can create positive change and provide hope for those in need.

Alder Hey Children's Hospital is a renowned paediatric hospital located in Liverpool. It provides a wide range of specialist services for children and young people, including surgeries, treatments for rare conditions, and critical care.

The hospital is known for its state-of-the-art facilities and dedicated staff who offer high-quality medical care and support to patients and their families. Thank you for your consideration to donate - and for your generosity. Your support means everything!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
