Report by Don Hale.  https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk   Three NW Road Runners competed in the midweek Ras Hwyl Pentir 4.5k Trail Race and fun run last Wednesday night and enjoyed the experience at this slightly unusual but friendly village event. Described by the organisers as a “fun run on quiet roads and fields from the heart of Pentir,” the race surprisingly attracted 105 finishers, including numerous top club and fell runners, over a short but challenging obstacle course. Jamie Tharme  continued his recovery from injury to finish in 16th place overall in 21 minutes and 1 second, and he was 2nd in his MV40 age cat.  *Ben Hudson (*above left) with his wife Sarah Ferguson Hudson. Report by Don Hale.   North Wales Road Runners received generous plaudits this week from officials at St David’s Hospice in Llandudno after raising more than £2,000 during the popular Nick Beer 10k race earlier this year. A Hospice official confirmed: “Many thanks to NWRRC, who organised the Nick Beer event in February this year, with the proceeds being donated to St David’s Hospice.  “Over 600 runners took part in the 10k following a route around the Great Orme, and 40 fun runners, along with 30 family members, ran the 1k fun run prior to the main event on the promenade. “In total, the event raised £2,306, which included a donation of £1,500 from NWRRC, from the race, and St David’s Hospice would like to thank Kay and John Hatton, Carla Green, and all at North Wales Road Runners, who helped to run and support the day. Fundraising 1k Fun Run for St David’s Hospice on Llandudno prom at Nick Beer 10k memorial race. Report by Don Hale.    St David’s Hospice will be staging a fundraising 1k fun run for children just before the start of the Nick Beer 10k race on Sunday 13th February. The event will be run along Llandudno promenade and all  participants will also receive a medal. This event is part of the Nick Beer 10K road race which now commemorates its 30th year. The fun run is open to all age groups, and entry is just £5 which is payable on the day at the race HQ within Venue Cymru or via St David’s fundraising office (*see details below). All proceeds from the event will go towards St David’s Hospice. The Fun run start 11.30am in conjunction with the North Wales Road Runners. Registration starts from 10.30am at Venue Cymru.
