Report by Don Hale. https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk A trio of NWRRC members took part in the   Abersoch half-marathon   last Saturday with  Stuart Culverhouse  coming home first for the club in 28th place overall, out of nearly 300 entrants. And he also celebrated a new course PB and finished two-minutes quicker than last time in 1.33.35 and he was 3rd in his M50 age cat.  Super-veteran  Sandy Johnston  confirmed his pedigree with a superb result of 1.42.26 to win his M75 cat with a new PB in 62nd place, whilst  Gwen Charlton  ran well in 2.20.44, and she was 260th overall, and the 86th female finisher. Report by Don Hale. https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk   North Wales Road Runner Charlotte Rose Wilton Jones completed a very tough 25k mountain race in Snowdonia last Saturday to help raise hundreds of pounds for ‘Beat,’ which is a UK eating disorder charity. The experienced mountain and fell running athlete bravely completed her fundraising run in style with a remarkable gun time of just 3 hours 24 minutes and 53 seconds. She was the 9th female finisher, in 58th place overall, and 6th in her respective FSen age category. Her incredible challenge was part of the 2024 Ogwen25 Yr Helgi Du 10k and 25k races, and Charlotte took on the top challenge in the latter 25k event and appealed for funding towards this deserving cause via her JustGiving page, setting an initial a target of £400. This popular event attracted a host of experienced and highly talented mountain runners from around the UK and Europe for one of the top sporting events on the Welsh calendar, which this year celebrated its 49th year. Report by Don Hale. https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk   Two Road Runners took to the hills, or rather to the mountain last Friday night, to take part in the gruelling Scott Sports Snowdon Twilight fell race. This was an extremely tough, challenging, but well-organised uphill race that started from the road opposite the Royal Victoria Hotel, and followed the Llanberis Path to the Summit of Snowdon. Charlotte Rose Wilton Jones  and  Phil Moss  competed well with Charlotte in 50th place overall out of 68 eventual finishers, and she was the 17th female athlete and 6th in her FOpen age category with a good time of 1hr 12 mins and 43 secs. Amidst a quality entry of experienced club and social runners,  Steve Mason  led the NWRRC team home in 7th place overall, and he was pleased to finish 2nd in his M40 age cat in 44 minutes and 54 seconds.  Newcomer  Tom Aindow  enjoyed a steady performance in 11th place in 46.25, with  Charlotte Rose Wilton-Jones  also on fire, and finishing in   30th place overall, as the 7th female athlete with a great new course PB of 53.10, whilst veteran  Rob Fryer  continued ...
