Photos courtesy of the late Steve Jeffery. https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk   A hat-trick of North Wales Road Runners celebrated after claiming the first three places at last Saturday’s Conwy parkrun, which included another bumper attendance of nearly 300-entrants, despite the blustery and damp conditions. Josh Keogh  and  Jonathan Kettle  battled for glory throughout this challenging 5k dash amidst a route that was splattered with mud, deep puddles, along a narrow out and back course, and led home a strong team of eighteen club members. Josh eventually finished 1st, but he was only 22-seconds ahead of his cub rival Jonathan, who had just returned to Conwy following his amazing half-marathon win in Cyprus last weekend.   He   also won his SM30 age cat in just 17 minutes and 28 seconds, with  Jonatha

Photos by Steve Jeffery. https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk   Ten North Wales Road Runners entered this week’s wild, wet, and windy Conwy parkrun, which included 146 club and social runners who negotiated the usual rather soggy, and waterlogged riverside course, and they all paid tribute to a former athlete. Jonathan Kettle  was the first runner home overall in a fast time of 17 minutes and 50 seconds to win his VM45 age cat, and he led back a talented team that collected five first-placed age category victories, in addition to one second and one third placing. Will Williams  finished 5th overall and he also won his VW50 cat in 19.08, with  Stuart Culverhouse  12th, and 3rd in his VM50 cat in 20.45.  Jamie Tharme  was on form again and he finished 19th in 22.08, and 2nd in his VM45 cat. *Will Williams (*

Nick Beer 10k race confirmed for 13th February 2022 - 30th anniversary run.

  THE 2022 NICK BEER MEMORIAL RACE WILL COMMEMORATE THE 30TH ANNIVERSARY. The race will be held on Sunday 13th February 2022, with a start time of 12-noon. Report by Don Hale. CARLA LED THE WAY DURING INTERNATIONAL RELAY CHALLENGE

North Wales Road Runner Carla Green led the way for her Welsh club during an exciting International virtual relay challenge last weekend with the prestigious Spanish outfit,  Fondistes Penedes Running Club (FPRC), from Vilafranca, near Barcelona. Carla was part of a mixed team of athletes, who each flew the flag for Wales during a unique and combined event that included competition both with, and against, their Spanish counterparts. She played a starring individual role as a worthy member of the winning team, and was also the 1 st  Welsh runner to finish, in addition to being the 1 st  F45 cat winner, and the 3 rd  fastest female overall.  And to top all that, Carla also recorded the 2 nd   best female age performance percentage.
