Photos by Michael  (Pat) Finnie. donhaleblog.blogspot.com/2026   The Llandrillo yn Rhos parkrun proved to be the most popular North Wales event on a warm Saturday morning, which again attracted a host of runners and walkers from all over the UK, and even from Australia, including members from the 5k Your Way, Move Against Cancer group for their regular end of the month gathering. Nine out of the first twelve finishing places were taken by first time entrants with  Paul Jones ( Shrewsbury AC) the first athlete home, recording a new course PB in 16.38, and he was chased by newbies  Conor Davies  second in 16.56, and  Niall Simmonds  (Southampton AC) third in 17.53. And well done to  Iain Burgess,  who ran extremely well in 4th place, despite ...

Most photographs by Michael Finnie. donhaleblog.blogspot.com/2025 The Llandrillo yn Rhos parkrun team welcomed some surprise members from  Colwyn Bay Rowing Club  to their event last Saturday morning – AKA the ‘parkrun rowers’ - who waited just offshore and set a challenge to try to keep pace with some of the tail walkers along the adjacent but very sandy promenade course as they headed towards the Porth Eirias turn point. *Pictured above and top - the Llandrillo yn Rhos parkrun rowers, and  (*below), the 5K Your Way, Move Against  Cancer Group on the promenade at Rhos on Sea last Saturday morning. The event also greeted the  5K Your Way, Move Against Cancer group,  who attended Rhos parkrun as part of their regular monthly meeting. Report by Don Hale.  https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk   NWRRC member Llyr ApGeraint-Roberts came home in 1st place in the T2 classification of the Slateman Sprint Duathlon in the Snowdonia National Park last Saturday.  Despite an undulating course, plus very warm and breezy conditions, Welsh Master and GB International athlete Llyr competed well throughout the event and recorded a time of 9 mins 11 secs for his first 2.36k run. This was followed by a 20.36k bike ride with 368m of elevation, which he completed in 44 mins and 53 secs; and then he followed this again with a second 5.59k run, including 198m of elevation, in 27 mins and 48 secs.  His total time for the entire event including transition was shown as 1 hour, 23 minutes and 1 second.
