WMAL team manager Eleri Jones is urgently looking for someone to join her squad for the forthcoming Inter-area T&F championships. This week she asked:   “Is it possible to put a shout out on the Welsh Masters page for a W50 800m runner please? We’ve had a couple of people who aren’t available and running out of options? "We have a vacancy in the team for a W50 800m runner, whilst the men’s team is heading towards announcement of a provisional team. Thanks."   Urgent appeal for volunteers to help out at this Saturday’s Welsh Masters Athletics T&F championships at Yate. Report by Don Hale.  https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk   Brett Davis, a director of Welsh Masters, is urgently appealing to WMAL members for any volunteers – qualified or not - to help out at this weekend’s Welsh Masters Athletics championships at Yate. As previously reported, the championships were moved from Aberdare, and will now be included within the Avon/Yate open T&F events at Yate this  Saturday 12th August , and with over 70 Welsh Masters athletes competing, the event organisers have asked WMAL officials if some willing volunteers can make themselves available to help out with various tasks at this important meeting. LATEST UPDATES: Welsh Master athlete Juliet Sidney has sent an update from Poland: “Made the final of W55 60m. Can't be too unhappy. 200s tomorrow at 9.15. 8th in the final today and loved every minute. Would have loved to have been quicker but looking forward to the 200s. Beats working for living and at my age I will embrace every second. Wonderful people and athletes. Privileged to have such an experience." 29/3/23. World Masters T&F Championships in Torun, Poland. LATEST UPDATES: 30/3/23: Congratulations, to Welsh Master, Melanie Garland, on winning the o/60 Long Jump Gold at the World Masters T&F Championships in Torun, Poland, this morning. She also then competed within the 60m Semi-finals and has qualified for the Final. Don Mel got gold. Iris bronze on long jump. Mel, Myself and Sez through to 60m finals....
