Three WMAL members set four new indoor track records. Report by Don Hale. https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk   Chris Pruski, the records co-ordinator for Welsh Masters Athletics Ltd (WMAL), has just handed out four new Welsh Masters’ record certificates to three exceptional athletes after their times were noted and later verified. They include Cardiff AC W35 athlete  Samantha Gamble  who achieved two separate records in the 60m and 400m events, in addition to M35 athlete  Michael Dickens  (Telford AC), who created a new record in the 60m, and M55 athlete  Geoff Brimble  (Newport Harriers), who also claimed a new record for the 3000m. Samantha’s  WMAL records were set at the Indoor 200m race on 25/2/24 at Lee Valley of 27.55i, and for the 400m at Nuneaton of 60.89 seconds on 31/7/22. Michael Dickens  set his 60m indoor record in Torun, Poland, on 27/3/23, with a time of 7.23 seconds, whilst  Geoff Brimble ...

Definitely a year of ups and downs, but I hung on in there to have some strong performances and good results.   Indoor Highlights:  60m indoor w55 Welsh and British champion. Made my first 200m indoor European final. Bronze medal 4 x 200 w50 European masters championships  Outdoor Highlights:  100m and 200m w55 Welsh and British Champion. Managed a W55 PB in the 100m and a PB in the 200m.   Made my first world outdoor final in the 100m.   First ever world medal 4 x 100m silver.  So many people to thank  @elite82high  for overall training programme. Records smashed at Welsh Masters Athletics Track & Field Championships at Avon/Yate.

Report by Don Hale.  https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk   It was a double delight for the Welsh Masters Athletics website manager Juliet Sidney at last weekend’s British Masters Track & Field Championships at Derby, where the veteran ‘Pocket Rocket’ collected two prestigious gold medals for winning both of her 100 and 200m races. The talented W55 age category winner, who currently holds the No 1 spot nationally for both race distances, was thrilled by her success on the track at the impressive but windswept Moorways Sports Complex, and now hopes to maintain her top form in readiness for the forthcoming European Championships later this month.  After the 100m race (13.96), Juliet said: “I was pleased with the win in the BM Championships W55, 100m.
