Report by Don Hale. donhaleblog.blogspot.com/2026 coastandcountry.blog   There was a massive entry of over 700 elite, club, and mixed ability athletes at the Essa Chester half marathon last Sunday with several North Wales runners celebrating some superb finishing times and placings. Tomos Roberts  and  Martin Green  were two top members representing  Meirionnydd RC , with Tomos 8th in 1.08.54, and he won his MV35 age cat, with colleague Martin also winning his MV50 cat in 23rd place in 1.15.15.  And full credit to another  North Wales  star in  Steffan Sayer  (Menai T&F) who was 20th in 1.14.42, and fellow Welshman  Matthew Collins  (Oswestry Olympians) in 1.07.58. Photos by John Hatton. https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk   There was a good turnout of NW Road Runners at the Essa Chester half-marathon race last Sunday morning, and they all competed well, and celebrated with three age cat podium places despite the hot and challenging conditions. Martin Green  looked back to his old self again and led home a team of fifteen members, to additionally win his MV45 age cat with a superb chip time of 1 hour 15 minutes and 10 seconds, finishing well in 13th place overall, out of nearly 6,000 entrants. He was one of three NWRRC members who celebrated podium positions, with Martin’s wife  Carla Green  finishing 3rd in her FV50 cat as the 20th female, whilst veteran  Rob Fryer  also took the 3rd spot overall, and the 2nd chip place position i...

Carla Green leads North Wales team at Chester half-marathon Report by Don Hale.   North Wales Road Runners entered eight athletes at the Essa Chester half-marathon last Sunday and Carla Green was again the pick of the pack finishing as 2nd female in her respective age category and 7th lady in this prestigious race which attracted over 3,000 entrants. And it proved a hectic weekend for the local club now that most parkruns are back to near normal, and the fact the Chester race clashed with the new Caernarfon half-marathon. Carla Green  however, confirmed her top form and celebrated a superb run at Chester in 92nd place overall with a chip time of 1 hour 25 minutes and 55 seconds, and she was also 2nd in her F45-49 age cat.                  *Carla Green finished 2nd in her age category at...
