At   Treborth Track, Bangor LL57 2RQ On   Saturday 4th January 2025. 11-00am:   Under 11 Girls - Approx. 1 Mile  11-20am:  U13 Girls/U11 Boys - Approx. 1.5 Miles  11-45am:  U15 Girls/U13 Boys - Approx. 2 Miles 12.15pm:  U17 Women/U15 Boys - Approx. 3 Miles 1.00pm:  U20/Senior/Master Women/U17 Men/65+ Men  Approx 3.5 Miles 2.00pm:  U20/Senior/Master Men - Approx. 5.25 Miles Ages as of 1st September 2024 (Masters, as on the day) All athletes  must  represent first claim club or school, wear club/school vest and have North Wales qualification....

Photos from Llanrug courtesy  of Lesley Goodson. https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk North Wales Road Runners (NWRRC) celebrated an exciting midweek 5k race at Llanrug last Wednesday night with eleven podium places in the NW championships, and collected four gold medals, four silver, and three bronze, with some fast times recorded! A high-quality field of top club runners pushed the pace throughout and the event winner was  Tom Roberts (Meirionnydd RC), who set a new 5k championship record in just 15 minutes and 25 seconds. In 2nd place was  Dion Griffiths  (Cardiff AC), in 15.42, with  Connor Rogers  (Wrexham AAC) in hot pursuit in 3rd, and he was only ...

Photos by Steve Jeffery.   Ten Road Runners took part in the North Wales cross country championships at Wrexham last Saturday where the combined male and female teams won four impressive medals including one gold, two silver, and one bronze, but just missed out on a few other awards with four close fourth place finishers. Josh Keogh  was the first club man home in the  Senior/Master Men’s race , finishing 5th overall out of 69 quality entrants, and despite recording an excellent time of 31.01, he just failed to collect a medal in 4th place in his SM cat.  Martin Green,  however, was in top form and won a gold medal in his MV45 age cat in 10th place overall in 32.00. Most photos by Steve Jeffery.   Several North Wales Road Runners have had their 2022 Welsh performance rankings updated following recent results in the Easter 5k Dash in Llandudno on 16th April, and the Mid Cheshire 5k race on 29th April, plus recent Track and Field events, and can now claim many top placings, plus some Welsh records! The nationally acclaimed Run Britain Rankings website, and the Power of 10 site, which both record race timings and performance details from thousands of club athletes competing in varied certified events across the country have updated the current Welsh rankings and include new details for eleven NWRRC athletes. Road Runners struck Welsh Gold at Sport City indoor championships.

Road Runners struck Welsh Gold at Sportcity indoor championships in Manchester. *The dynamic NWRRC duo Don Hale (left) with Pat Finnie at Sportcity. Veteran runners Pat Finnie and Don Hale swapped the great outdoors for the magnificent indoors last Saturday and struck gold at Sportcity during the North Wales Regional Championships. The two NWRRC athletes ran for the very first time on the superb and steeply banked indoor track in Manchester, which is often used for World, International, or for other national running finals. The meeting on Saturday had to be re-arranged due to fixture clashes yet it still attracted a host of top elite performers backed by a large vocal and enthusiastic support group from across the UK. In addition to recording massive PBs, both Welsh runners also collected prestigious gold medals for winning their respective age categories and time trials in the 200m and 600m track races, which has now propelled them into the top Welsh rankings over these distances. Photos by John Hatton and Mick Hall.   NWRRC members beat the horrific weather last Saturday and claimed medals galore in the highly prestigious North Wales championships held within the Rhyl 10-mile race. Tackling rain, sleet, snow, and freezing temperatures, runners claimed five podium places including two age category wins, one second and two third placings, in addition to winning four gold and four silver medals in the North Wales championship age categories. Josh Keogh  was the first club man home finishing 3rd overall and 3rd in his SM21.34 age cat in 56 minutes 47 seconds, with  Jonathan Kettle  8th but won his MV50-55 cat in 58.28. *Jonathan Kettle braved the elements to finish 8th and won his age cat at the Rhyl 10-miler.
