Steady performances in dry conditions at Conwy parkrun.

Nearly 300 mixed ability athletes took part in another welcome dry event at Conwy parkrun last Saturday morning from the RSPB Nature Reserve, with many entrants taking it steady in preparation for other events the following day.

North Wales Road Runners had fifteen runners in action and Steve Bozier led the team home with a good performance in 11th place in 21.34, and he was 3rd in his VM45 age cat, whilst Adam Lemalle continued his fine form finishing 19th in 21.58, and he was 2nd in his VM40 cat.

Steve Roberts was 3rd in his VM55 cat in 31st place overall with an excellent performance in 23.03, and Mal Preece returned to parkrun finishing 62nd in 24.48. Newcomer Juana Hunter was pleased with her club debut at Conwy with a new course PB of 25.13 and she finished 3rd in her VW35 age cat.

Master vet Rob Fryer was back to his best and won his VM70 age cat in 85th place in 26.07, and Sion Thomas finished 91st in 26.26. Meanwhile, Gethin Wyn Jones was 130th in 27.51, and Daniel Hennell was just four places behind Gethin in 28.12.

Vicky Taylor enjoyed her run in 29.15, and she was 3rd in her VW45 cat in 152nd place, and master vet Mark Mason finished 2nd in his VM70 cat in 164th place in 30.01. In addition, Nia Lister was 181st in 31.23, and Rachel Morriscelebrated after recording her best parkrun time this year of 32.54 in 211th place. Elizabeth Driscoll came home in 39.21 in 260th place, with Steve Mason 286th in 51.03.

 

*The 1st finisher was student Bryn Woodall (Colwyn Bay) in 16.41, and he won his SM20 age cat, with Lloyd Williams (Cybi Striders) 2nd with a new PB of 17.28, and he won his SM30 cat, and James Williams (Lymm Runners), took the 3rd spot in 19.23 and won his VM45 cat. 

*For the ladies, Ceri Merwood (CDF Runners), was the 1st female finisher (4th overall), on her debut in 19.52, and she won her SW25 cat, with Melissa Ward-Williams (Cybi Striders), 2nd in 21.56 (17th overall), and won her VW35 cat, whilst Katherine Gregson was the 3rd female (23rd overall), in 22.28, and she was the SW30 age cat winner.
