  North Wales, SSSART Trawsfynydd Multi Terrain 8 Mile race. A mostly fast course with one challenging hill on a mixed tarmac and fast trail course. The Race will be under the Welsh Athletics / UK Athletics Rules. All proceeds are in aid of the South Snowdonia Search and Rescue Team. The team is run entirely by volunteers, who are on callout 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to help those in need in the local area. The team is a charity, dependent on donations from the public, and the proceeds of the race will provide vital funds. Starting by the Magnox Power Station Car Park at 12:00 on Sunday, 7th April 2024. This tough run included 1,461m of elevation and was run over about 14k of varied terrain.  After the event, NWRRC member Karl said:  “I competed in the Pedol Peris half-race which started in Llanberis. It’s a classic local fell race. Not my best but getting back from injury and a great morning on the tops. Photos by Steve Jeffery. https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk   There was a massive turn-out of some 54 athletes from the GOG Triathlon Club last Sunday for the Llanrwst Sprint Triathlon challenge with Grant Little and Simon Roxburgh both celebrating top podium places. The event - well organised by the GOGs - attracted 160 quality entrants for the T-1 swim, T-2 cycle and run, with  Llewelyn Edwards  finishing in 1st place, in 1 hour 7 minutes and 14 seconds, and he also won his senior men’s age cat title. Report by Don Hale.  https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk   NWRRC member Llyr ApGeraint-Roberts came home in 1st place in the T2 classification of the Slateman Sprint Duathlon in the Snowdonia National Park last Saturday.  Despite an undulating course, plus very warm and breezy conditions, Welsh Master and GB International athlete Llyr competed well throughout the event and recorded a time of 9 mins 11 secs for his first 2.36k run. This was followed by a 20.36k bike ride with 368m of elevation, which he completed in 44 mins and 53 secs; and then he followed this again with a second 5.59k run, including 198m of elevation, in 27 mins and 48 secs.  His total time for the entire event including transition was shown as 1 hour, 23 minutes and 1 second.
