New proposals for Welsh Masters Athletics - Winter Indoor event in Swansea. https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk Brett Davis, a director of WMAL, has confirmed proposals for a new winter indoor event for next month. This week he explained: " We’re considering holding an indoor field events championship on Sunday 11th February in Swansea.  "However WA have been struggling to get sufficient field officials for their events. So this is a call to see how many members would be interested in competing and would also be able to officiate.  "Obviously interested in any field officials who wouldn’t be competing too, although aware that they’re less likely to be looking here. Will be using your responses to help judge if this event had a chance of happening. Thanks in advance." Brett Davis,  Director,  Welsh Masters Athletics Limited.

Special report and comments from Brett Davis and Dave Watson at WMAL   Brett Davis, a director of WMAL has confirmed some extraordinary updates regarding the 2024 Welsh Masters athletics T&F Championships.  He said: “Due to the demands of the programme and restrictions caused by the timetable challenges, Welsh Athletics were only able to offer us (indoor) championship events at 60m, 200m and 300m.  “The middle-distance events are run by the British Miler’s Club, and we await the conditions there when they go live on the BMC website, but they may be elite open only. No field events are championship events due to number restrictions, but individuals can enter, there just won’t be any medals for those events.” And today he added, hot off the press: “ I can update now that the BMC is elite only which translates to 1:58 800m, and 4:05 1500m, for males, and 2:20 and 4:50 for females.”   The champions

Opportunity Knocks for budding Welsh Masters T&F athletes for 2024 season....appeal from Brett Davis. https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk Would you like the opportunity to represent Welsh Masters Athletics at Track and Field?

The next inter-area event is indoors and is on 25th  February 2024 at Lee Valley Athletics Centre, just outside London.  We are really keen to field the strongest Welsh Masters’ team that we can and we know that we have a lot of talent around here. We did brilliantly in the summer and it is time to build on that success. To do that, we need to have the largest pool from which to select.
Selection will be made over the next few weeks and will be based on recent results on power of 10 (2022, 2023). We would like to get the provisional women’s team out in mid-January so that people can make travel arrangements, the men’s will take longer to establish.

For those events where there are no current performances on power of 10 then
