Report by Don Hale. https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk Road Runner Richard Scamans took part in his first ever Triathlon event at the weekend in rather wet conditions, but he was pleased with his overall performance and completed a swim, run, cycle, and final dash in a respectable time of 1hr 52 mins and 8 seconds. Richard entered the challenging  Llanrwst Sprint   Triathlon  and he finished 97th out of 147 finishers, and he was the 54th male athlete, and 15th in his respective super-vet age category. After the event he confirmed:  “My f irst triathlon completed this morning. Pleased to get round in one piece in the damp conditions, although I was obviously wet from the swim, so it didn't affect me too much. “Anyone wanting to do a triathlon, I would definitely recommend this one for first timers or for exp...

*Endurance runner Karl Morris ran 83-miles last weekend at Pen Llyn race. *Pen Llyn:  Brave NWRRC endurance athlete  Karl Morris c ompleted the  Pen Llyn 75-mile  race over the weekend, but said he made a few errors and ended up doing 83 miles instead! Karl eventually ran 83.53 miles in 21 hours and 21 minutes and his challenging route including 3,386m of elevation. He later explained; “I forgot an honesty book page, so I had to track back a mile, and then had to hunt for toilets in Nefyn.   “I even managed to get lost in a farmer’s field. Oh well, a great day and I got to run along some of the best coastal path routes anywhere in the UK. Finished 7th in the end.
