Success for North Wales athletes at the Manchester half-marathon...plus other results...

Success for North Wales athletes at the Manchester half-marathon...plus other results...including Harry's Abbey Dash success... https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk   A North Wales trio of Martin Green, along with Will Evans and his daughter Molly, travelled to Manchester on Sunday to compete in the city’s popular half-marathon race along with about 24,000 other athletes, and recorded some excellent PB times! Martin, ( *pictured right ), who now has dual club registration with Meirionnydd RC, finished well as the 75th male athlete overall in 1 hr 13 mins and 4 seconds and won his VM50 age category.  After the event he confirmed:  “I went flat out for a championship time, and I was on track till around 6/7 miles then dropped off the pace unfortunately, but no complaints, enjoyed the block, took the race on but unfortunately not quite good enough on the day.” Will Evans ...

Introduction by Don Hale. https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com   The Conwy Dark Run is all set to go ahead once again and this year it will be staged on Saturday 26th October from 6pm at the RSPB Nature Reserve at Conwy and  will help to raise thousands of pounds for Hope House Children’s Hospices. MC John Hatton will be present and he is bound to add to the fun at Conwy, and he will also be the MC for a similar DarK run event at Penrhyn Castle.   Entrants will have the option to run or walk either the full 5k course, or the 2.5k reduced version, and they will be encouraged to wear fancy dress or Halloween themed costumes. Report by Don Hale. https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk   Charity organiser, promoter and popular NWRRC official  John Hattton,  who has been involved with the organisation of two major fundraising events recently for local deserving causes, confirmed this week that £4.5k was raised on Sunday at the  Mental Elf 5k fun-run , and that a further £14k was raised at the recent  Conwy Dark Run  in October for  Ty Gobaith , which utilised the Conwy parkrun course from the RSPB centre. John praised the generous public support for both events, and from numerous volunteers and marshals, and  confirmed: “ The  Mental Elf 5k fun run  was a fantastic event, twice around the Eirias Park track in Colwyn Bay, then down to, and along the prom to the Toad, where turn-around Bob was there....

Conwy Dark Run for Children's Charities...28/10/23. This year's event is on Saturday 28th October at RSPB Conwy. This is a unique drone footage taken at night in Conwy, North Wales, on 20th October 2022, by Snapdrone on behalf of the fundraising organisers for a special 5k DARK RUN or walk from the RSPB at Conwy, to help raise funds for Hope House and Ty Gobaith Children's Charities. Conwy Charity Dark Run for Hope House and Ty Gobaith children's cancer charities – 28th October 2023 at 6:30pm.

Conwy Dark Run 2023 – 28th October 2023 at 6:30pm.   It’s time to glow crazy and take in the delights of the Conwy Charity Dark Run, which returns for a second year on Saturday 28th October and will fundraise for Hope House and Ty Gobaith  children's  cancer  charities. You can run, jog, or walk, and join with friends, take your family, or do it solo - the choice is yours! We can’t wait to see everyone waving their glow sticks in support of seriously ill local children.  The event follows the Conwy Parkrun course - but in the dark! It starts and finishes at the RSPB Centre near Llandudno Junction and travels along the Cob towards a Conwy Castle which will be lit up in all its glory.  It then continues along the cycle path towards Deganwy before returning to the RSPB Centre.  Complete 5K amidst music, cheering spectators and finish your Dark Run to pick up your unique glow-in-the-dark medal and extra special goody bag.
