Four Road Runners swopped their trainers for spikes last Saturday afternoon for the second fixture of the season in the NW Cross-Country League, with this week’s event taking place at Ysgol Morgan, at Llwyd, near Wrexham. THE FINAL FLING - OPEN THROWS MEETING   QUEENSWAY STADIUM, WREXHAM. LL13 8UH. SEPTEMBER 2024  Licence no OD-24-43 SATURDAY 28th (U11,U13,U15,U17), SUNDAY 29th (U18,U20, Senior, Vets)  We are holding our 12th - End of Season Throws meeting. All throwers will have 6 throws.  The entry fee per competitor will be 1st event £15, each additional event £6. Prestigious medals won at the North Wales cross-country championships.

Most photos by Steve Jeffery.  https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk   Several hundred runners ranging from juniors to master veterans took part in the Grand Prix Express, North Wales cross-country championships, held last Saturday afternoon at Ysgol Morgan Llywd at Wrexham. North Wales Road Runners  entered nine athletes including five ladies and four men, and they won six prestigious NW championship awards with one gold, one silver, and four bronze medals. The female athletes competed in the senior/master women’s race with  Carla Green  bouncing back to form in 29th place overall in 28 minutes...

Most photograph by Steve Jeffery.   Road Runner Martin Green shared a deserved slice of the action at the Village Bakery half-marathon last Sunday at Wrexham, and he was one of thirteen NWRRC members, who also battled for club championship points and claimed three prestigious podium places. And in a star-studded field of nearly 1,400 elite, club, and social runners, Martin performed well again, and finished 15th overall with an impressive chip time of 1 hour 13 minutes and 53 seconds to additionally win his MV45 age cat.
