Special tribute run in memory of Jon Dalzell

Hot pace on a warm night for the NWRRC club relay teams.

Report by Don Hale. https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com   Members of North Wales Road Runners took part in their annual team relay challenge last Tuesday night on Llandudno promenade amidst glorious sunshine and very warm conditions. Eighteen runners competed in six teams of three, with their previous average times over 5k estimated to help equalise the competition. The event, which included each runner targeting a specific distance, was well organised by  Carla Green , with support from  John Hatton ,  Elizabeth Driscoll and others , was eventually won by a team consisting of  Gwennan Charlton, Molly Evans, and Kevin Slattery , who finished in an overall time of 28 minutes and 34 seconds. The runners-up team included:  Mark Davies, Richard Scamans, and Molly Evans in a combined time of 28.34,  with all the team finishing quite close...

Report by Don Hale. https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com   The Boxing Day Sea Dip was a record-breaking success for the Llandudno Lions Club with huge crowds, a massive entry of dippers, and loads of money raised for charity. Over six-hundred fancy dress entrants joined in with the fun and made a huge splash as they dipped their toes into the sea off Llandudno beach, watched by thousands of cheering spectators last Thursday morning for this popular annual charity event, which this year was also blessed by unusually warm sunshine and a bright blue sky! Report by John Chambers. https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com **URGENT UPDATE: Online entries for this year's Boxing Day Dip have NOW CLOSED, but you can still enter on the day, but please arrive early as it looks to be a record year for entries. Last year, 200 Dippers took to the water and raised thousands for many good causes. We hope to match that number of Dippers again. You can pre-register for the Dip by following the link below and filling out the form. We will then email you with the preregister form, Dip rules and sponsorship forms. Entries are now open for the popular Arthur Bebbington Twin Piers 10k race...18th January 2025. https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk   The popular Arthur Bebbington Twin Piers 10k race will be held on Saturday 18th January 2025, with a 1pm start from Llandudno Pier, and will follow an undulating route via Penrhyn Bay, and Rhos on Sea prior to finishing close to Colwyn Bay Pier. Entries are now open online, and the  Race Headquarters will be at Studio 2, Leisure Centre, Eirias Park, and opens at 11am.   Transport to the start in Llandudno will be at 12.15pm prompt from Race HQ for a 1pm start from Llandudno Pier Medals will be awarded to all finishers , and the closing date for entries is 11th January, with no entries accepted on the day.  Many prizes will be awarded for various age categories, together with some team and individual trophies. Report by Don Hale . https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk   It proved to be another interesting and exciting annual club relay competition for members of the North Wales Road Running Club last Tuesday night on Llandudno promenade.
