North Wales Cross Country championships at Wrexham. Report by Don Hale. Entries are now open for the North Wales Cross Country Championships which will be held at Ysgol Morgan Llwyd, Wrexham, on Saturday 7th January 2023. The timetable of races is as follows :   11am - Under 11 Girls; 11-20am - Under 13 Girls/Under 11 Boys;   11-45am - Under 15 Girls/Under 13 Boys;12-15pm - Under 17 Women/Under 15 Boys;   1-00pm Under 20/Senior/Master Women/Under 17 Men/65+Men   2-00pm - Senior/Master Men. *For the first time, entries are on-line and are available via the following link:   https://www.entrycentral.com/North_Wales_CC_Champs   North Wales Indoor Championships at Deeside. *Cheryl Frost and Kay Hatton (*above) are in the top Welsh rankings for 5k. North Wales Road Runners amongst the records and top Welsh rankings for 5k races and Track and Field. Report by Don Hale. Most photos by Steve Jeffery.   Several North Wales Road Runners have had their 2022 Welsh performance rankings updated following recent results in the Easter 5k Dash in Llandudno on 16th April, and the Mid Cheshire 5k race on 29th April, plus recent Track and Field events, and can now claim many top placings, plus some Welsh records! The nationally acclaimed Run Britain Rankings website, and the Power of 10 site, which both record race timings and performance details from thousands of club athletes competing in varied certified events across the country have updated the current Welsh rankings and include new details for eleven NWRRC athletes. They confirm that two top female club runners  Cheryl Frost  (22.36) and  Kay Hatton  (23.03) are ranked 3rd and 4th in their respective FV55 age cate

*Course PB for Mark Jessett at New Year’s Day parkrun in Kent. Report by Don Hale. Some photos by Steve Jeffery.   Mark Jessett was up bright and early on New Year’s Day to take part in the Bexley parkrun at Sidcup in Kent and was rewarded with a great new course PB of 18 minutes 26 seconds. The NWRRC athlete was 3rd overall out of 271 finishers, and he also won his MV35-39 age category. Mark also recorded his third PB out of his last four outings at this parkrun and knocked eleven seconds of his previous performance in Kent. The event was won by James Macdonald (Cambridge Harriers) and 1st MV40 cat in a fast time of 17.10, with Alexander Barber, SM25-29, 2nd overall in 18.00, with Mark  Jessett 3rd. *Mark Jessett in action at a previous Conwy  Parkrun.
