Six age cat wins and special celebrations for Kevin Slattery at Conwy parkrun.

Report by Don Hale. https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk   North Wales Road Runners turned out nineteen members this week on a very mild morning, but on puddle-filled course from the RSPB Nature Reserve, which again attracted a generous attendance of nearly three-hundred mixed ability and social runners. Steve Mason  led the NWRRC team home in 5th place overall as they claimed six age cat victories, including his own VM50 age cat win in 18 minutes and 56 seconds.  Birthday boy  Kevin Slattery , the club chairman, celebrated his both his 70th birthday, and winning his respective, and new VM70 age cat, after finishing 12th overall in 21.43, and this week he was joined in the parkrun by his son...

Podium places and ten regional medals for NWRRC at the Caernarfon half-marathon

The  Road Runners  entered a large contingent of fifteen members and celebrated with five prestigious podium places in the main race, including three age cat victories, plus ten championship medals, with six gold, one silver, and three bronze medals amidst the 504 finishers. *Jonathan Kettle (*above in the white vest), ...

Report by Don Hale . https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk   There was a very good turn-out of members from North Wales Road Runners at the annual Felinheli 10k race last Wednesday, which attracted a bumper entry of some 325 club and social runners on a bright and breezy evening. Martin Green  was back to his best and he finished in 2nd place overall and won his M40 age cat in style in just 35 minutes and 34 seconds, and he was one of five club runners amongst 21 entrants, who claimed podium places, including three age category wins, and two third place finishes.  Will Evans  was pleased with 20th place in 41.03, and he was 4th in his M40 cat.  Stuart   Culverhouse  on top form in 28th place in 42.14, and he was 3rd in his M50 cat, whilst  Iwan Evans  was 31st in 42.51, but he was chased all...

Jonathan Kettle  led the team home in 17th place overall in 36 minutes and 35 seconds, with  Steve Mason  close on his heels and finishing 19th in 37.13. Veteran  Kevin Slattery  followed up his excellent performance in the  Snowdonia half-marathon  with another good result in 46th place in 41.42, and  Adam Lemal...

Stuart Culverhouse  was the first NWRRC athlete home in 41st place overall with an impressive chip time of 1.47.38, but the club chairman and top veteran athlete  Kevin Slattery  was perhaps the pick of the team after winning his MV65 age cat with a superb performance in 70th place in 1.53.36. *And as a note of interest, Kevin’s son  Ian Slattery,  who was visiting, also ran well, and he finished 23r...
