The talented Great Britain and Welsh international runner has been selected to represent his country in this week’s major competition, which has attracted about fifty of the top duathlon athletes from around the world, who will compete for honours in this prestigious event. Photos by Steve Jeffery. https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com   Ten North Wales Road Runners were amongst a bumper turn-out of over three-hundred entrants at the Conwy parkrun last Saturday with the usual numbers boosted due to a local half-marathon event the following day.  This popular annual race, well organised by  RunWales , always attracts a massive following and ensures this particular parkrun date records one of the busiest days of the year, as many athletes utilise this event as an ideal warm-up.  After the parkrun however, it was hoped that most of the participants had a change of footwear available, as once again, this saturated riverside 5k course dominated proceedings, and made the narrow, twisty, riverside route quite a challenge, especially with so many visiting runners. A dozen hardy and determined North Wales Road Runners competed in the popular Eryri Marathon last Saturday and additionally celebrated news of seeing their club colleague Mark Davies positioned near the start line following a serious accident earlier this year. Report by Don Hale. https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk   Jonathan Kettle flew the flag for Wales with pride last Sunday (22nd Oct) as he finished in second place overall at the Niagara Falls half-marathon following another stunning performance with an excellent time. The veteran North Wales Road Runner, who has been working away in Canada recently, celebrated a great effort in some very challenging weather conditions, but he was pleased to secure 2nd place and won his MV45 age cat in 1 hour 16 minutes and 55 seconds, in a top quality event that attracted 1,154 entrants.  Jonathan ran hard throughout and finished about two-minutes behind the winner, a local athlete, Jonathan Bradnam in 1.14.51, but he was almost four-minutes ahead of the 3rd placed finishe...
