Chris Pruski from Welsh Masters Athletics is requesting that all athletes and volunteers who are planning to take part in Welsh Masters Championship events should sign up with Tempo Time.

He explained: “I’ve been working on this for a while and hope that we can get lots of people signed up so we can get the scheme underway. This will help all members, athletes, supporters, and WMAL, to be able to continue providing essential sporting championship events as we begin to build an essential support network.

“I will be sending a letter to contacts I have at various clubs, but the more people we can contact, the better are the chances that we can get this going, and they don’t need to be WMAL members.

“There is also an Event Academy Initiative and I have a meeting with them next week – on Thursday 11th July - where I want to establish a relationship whereby, they can encourage their students to volunteer for WMAL.

As a competitor at the championships WMAL would like you to consider joining Tempo Time Credits. At WMAL we value your support as a member and competitor and volunteer. As such we are looking for ways to thank you.
 One way that we want to make use of is using Tempo Time Credits. When you volunteer with us, you can earn Time Credits and then you can use these to access opportunities and experiences for free locally and nationally across the Tempo Time Credit network.  
 There are lots of lovely places and things that you can use your Time Credits on, which I’m sure will also be good for well-being and you can even gift Time Credits to friends and family if you don’t want to use them on yourself.

The Time Credits model works simply: you earn Time Credits for the time you give to support WMAL services. The Tempo Time Credit platform records and recognises this. This is managed by Chris Pruski who will monitor you when volunteering for activities. 

The reward is in the form of being able to use a Tempo Time Credits at hundreds of different recognition opportunities across the UK. A recognition opportunity includes a session at a local sports/leisure centre, seeing a film or going to the theatre, bike hire, a day out at a national attraction. You can also gift Tempo Time Credits to others.

One thing other regions flag up is milestones on overall attendances since the parkrun started. In North Wales our highest overall attendance is Conwy parkrun with 111,614 finishers, it was such a shame that this site was not going for the 100,000th finisher, as that would have been great to capture that, and who was it that crossed the line, I will work it out and contact the Conwy parkrun team. It was another jam-packed and fun-filled occasion on Saturday morning at the new Llandrillo yn Rhos (Y Promenade) parkrun last Saturday following a record-breaking attendance on Christmas Day. Despite the freezing temperatures and a generous covering of heavy frost around the region, with the icy conditions causing the cancellation of rival events at  Conwy  and at  Nova , the Rhos parkrun, possibly aided by a light layer of sand at key points, was given the green light, much to the delight of 576 eager entrants. Report by Don Hale. https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com   Twenty-four members of NWRRC took part in the annual Christmas club handicap race, which this year was staged from the Rhos on Sea clock tower to the renovated far end of the promenade and back over a 4.5-mile course. Well organised with times recorded and verified by  Carla Green  and  Elizabeth Driscoll , with support from other members, the handicap rules this time included each runner having to hand in their watches and mobile phones, and the need to predict their finishing times, so that no one knew their exact pace, or whether their estimated times were likely to be accurate, until they actually reached the finish line. Another update on the Dublin trip on Saturday April 11th from Dave Munday, who runs the parkrun North Wales website... Quite a few people now booked on the ferry, different groups doing different Dublin parkruns, just for info St Anne’s is cancelled, Darndale is also cancelled for Saturday, thats 2 that are close to the port. Please see below this was one of the six closest to the ferry port and one that was suggested as a possible for this trip. The plan is still to get your parkrun done, get plenty of photos and post up on the parkrun group, so far some people are doing Fairview, Father Collins and Malahide so plenty of choice and then if you want to meet up for drinks or food, we are heading to the Church Cafe in the centre of Dublin.
