Anglesey Trail half-marathon and 10k...Sunday 10th Nov 2024. Sunday 10th November 2024.  Newborough Forest, Anglesey: https://alwaysaimhighevents.com/ https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com The Anglesey Trail Half Marathon & 10k is set in the beautiful surroundings of Newborough Forest, Anglesey.  The course takes you through the trees onto the stunning Llanddwyn Island and onwards to beautiful winding woodland trails which once hosted the Commonwealth Mountain and Ultra Distance Running Championships.    You’ll catch glimpses of the Llyn Peninsula and the mountains of Eryri (Snowdonia) amongst other incredible views. With loads of single-track forest trails, quiet forest views and sandy running trails, there is something for everyone in this race.    The course loops round to bring runners back to where they started and a hero's welcome from the spectators on the finish line.   https://alwaysaimhighevents.com/

Top Two UK M70s at the Ammanford 10k

*Welsh Master veteran Alan Davies (*above), at the Ammanford 10k DG Credit Stuart Ladd - South Wales Guardian Top Two UK M70s at the Ammanford 10k. https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk The 2024 Ammanford 10k road race was run in ideal conditions of a light breeze and sunshine last Sunday morning.  The Carmarthenshire race is run on undulating open roads between Ammanford and Landybie with a generally steady uphill first half followed by a short sharp hill and then generally downhill to the finish. The current two top men on the Run Britain V70 National ladder - who are both from Swansea - were taking part and put in solid performances.  *Pictured above - Welsh Master veteran David Gibson at the Ammanford 10k DG Credit Stuart Ladd - South Wales Guardian. Top Two UK M70s at the Ammanford 10k Once again Swansea Harrier Alan Davies gave a masterclass to finish in 18th place with an excellent time of 38:47 with Tri Hard Harrier David Gibson following in 34th 

Five championship medals for five Road Runners at the Fairy Freckled Cow Trail Race.

Five championship medals for five Road Runners at the Fairy Freckled Cow Trail Race... Report by Don Hale.   Five Road Runners successfully competed in the Fairy Freckled Cow Trail Race on Sunday, which was a very challenging 10.7k race around Llyn Alwen Reservoir and formed part of the North Wales Trail Race Championships, with each member collecting a prestigious medal. Stuart Culverhouse  led the NWRRC team home, and he was delighted to collect a deserved gold medal after finishing 14th overall and he won his M50 age cat in 47 minutes and 26 seconds.  Cheryl Frost  also had a very good run, finishing in 34th place, and 2nd in her F55 cat in 56.25 to win a silver medal, and  Nicola Wylie  celebrated winning a bronze medal in 3rd place in the same age cat as Cheryl, finishing in 39th place in 60.54.
