Report by Don Hale. https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk Three North Wales Road Runners were amongst 443 entrants at the Winter Trail 7-mile race at Coed-y-Brenin last Saturday morning, with Josh Keogh claiming a deserved podium place after finishing as the runner-up in a close finish. Josh ran home in just 48 minutes and 8 seconds over this tough and undulating course, whilst his colleagues   Adam Lemalle   and   Charlotte Rose Wilton-Jones   also ran well and were pleased with their performances in this challenging and very muddy event. Photos by John Hatton. https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk   North Wales Road Runners held their annual inter-club relay competition on Llandudno promenade last Tuesday night with a couple of dozen athletes taking part over a variety of distances. Seven teams, each consisting of three mixed ability and/or mixed aged athletes, plus one volunteer, entered this fun relay event, which was well organised by John Hatton and Carla Green , and included several other willing club volunteers.  All the distances were different and approximated. The first leg was just over 1k, with the second about a mile, and the third just over two miles. *I have entered the individual times and distances where known. Report by Don Hale.   Ten members of North Wales Road Running Club completed the gruelling Snowdonia Marathon last Saturday despite battling a very tough course and some extremely challenging weather conditions that included driving rain and gusty winds, with two other runners forced to drop through injuries and sheer exhaustion. Ben Hudson was the first club man  home  and he   finished in 263rd place in 3.53.35, and  John Dalzell , also had an excellent run in 3 hours 56 minutes and 21 seconds. He was closely followed by Karl Morris in 303rd place in 3.57.56, and this was Karl's 7th running of this event. And colleague Sarah Ferguson Hudson, another top endurance and ultra- distance  athlete was  the 46th female finisher, and 326th overall, in 4.00.31.  Stuart Culv

*Josh Keogh struck gold after winning his age cat at the Fell Running Championships. Fell Running gold medals for Josh and Charlotte. Report by Don Hale. *Rowen: Josh Keogh  finished 4th overall in 1 hour 17 minutes and 21 seconds but won gold in first place in the Senior Men’s age cat within the North Wales Regional Fell Running championships at the challenging Ras Tal y Fan 8-mile race at Rowen last Saturday. And  Charlotte-Rose Wilton-Jones  also won a gold medal following her Senior Women’s title success in the same competition, recording an excellent time of 1 hour 48 minutes and 44 seconds. *A great run from Charlotte-Rose Wilton Jones (*above) to win gold in her Senior Women cat in the Fell Race champs. Other race results: - Elizabeth Driscoll 2nd in her cat at Triathlon in Chester. *Chester: Elizabeth Driscoll  competed at Chester on Sunday in a major triathlon event and celebrated another remarkable performance. Tough challenge for runners in Snowdonia half-marathon - plus Pilgrim's Trail results...

Most photos by Steve Jeffery.   Several NWRRC members tackled the tough Snowdonia half-marathon race last Sunday, which attracted 425 finishers over a hot and hilly course. Gethin Wyn Jones  celebrated a good performance in 41st place overall in 1 hour 47 minutes and 40 seconds, with Steve Poupart 107th in 1.57.20, and  Charlotte-Rose Wilton-Jones  enjoyed another positive run finishing 111th overall, as the 12th female runner, and 5th in her F21-34 age cat, in 1.58.31.  *Gethin Wyn Jones (*above left) with Steve Poupart at the Snowdonia race. And club colleague  Jamie Tharme  still seems   determined to continue with his weekly endurance punishment, finishing in 157th place in 2.08.18, and  Nicola Wylie  was a tail runner with her dog Beau in 3.22. *The race was won by  Nic Brook  (Eryri Harriers) in 1.31.05, with 2nd  Andrew Wilson  (St Helens in 1

Photos by John Hatton.   Three North Wales Road Runners crossed the border into England last Saturday and celebrated with some very good performances in the Tatton Park 10k race in Cheshire, including Kay Hatton who won her respective veteran age category. With parkruns and most other races currently prohibited, or severely restricted in Wales, due to Welsh Government and Covid-19 restrictions it meant another long trip for three notable club athletes who had to battle strong winds, cold temperatures, and rain over a challenging but picturesque course. Harry Driscoll  (*pictured above) was the first NWRRC member home in 19th place in 39 minutes 51 seconds, with  Iwan Evans  31st in 41.43 and 4th in his MV40 age cat, whilst  Kay Hatton  was the pick of the trio, and continued her excellent form to win her VW55 age cat in a superb time of 48.03, finishing 109th overall and the 13th female ru
