Report by Don Hale. https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk   Local athletes, together with a bumper turn-out of visitors from around the UK, and even from the Netherlands, and Australia, boosted the numbers to 355 entrants at the RSPB Nature Reserve last Saturday morning for the 410th Conwy parkrun. North Wales Road   Runner  Alistair Canaway  made a rare parkrun appearance, and he was the 1st athlete back overall on this unusually dry and bumpy 5k course. He stormed ahead from the start and celebrated an excellent result with a new PB in 17 minutes and 39 seconds and he won his VM35 age cat. He also led home a team of twelve club runners. Other NWRRC members included  Steve Roberts  in 24th place in 22.02, and he was 2nd in his VM55 cat, and  Jamie Tharme ...

Report by Don Hale. https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk   In stark contrast to the previous week, Conwy parkrunners enjoyed very warm conditions last Saturday morning with bright sunshine, light headwinds, and a limited number of puddles. Nearly 300 mixed ability club and social runners from all over the UK took advantage of the mild weather at the RSPB Nature Reserve to record some excellent new PBs, many fast times and some notable age category wins. North Wales Road Runners  had a good entry with some fourteen athletes in action this week and claimed three age cat victories, with four other members finishing in second places.  Alastair Canaway  made a rare parkrun appearance but ran well in 5th place overall, and he was 2nd in his VM35 cat in 18.59.   *John Hatton (*above)  performed a clean sweep at Conwy parkrun to help reduce numerous large puddles at the start of a waterlogged course. Report by Don Hale.   Over two-hundred mixed ability runners took part in last Saturday’s Conwy parkrun, but once again they had to contend with very muddy and waterlogged conditions underfoot, with the start area only improved late on due to volunteer John Hatton sweeping out some of the large puddles! Most photos by Steve Jeffery.   Club newcomer Alastair Canaway was the first man home at the Conwy parkrun last Saturday as the club celebrated four age category wins and six podium placings in another fast and furious encounter. The NWRRC athlete   continued his recent impressive form to secure a narrow victory and additionally won his MV35 age cat with a new course PB of 18 minutes and 1 second.  This event again attracted plenty of additional club and social runners from across the UK, and yet, despite a fierce encounter for honours,  Alastair  just managed to stay ahead of the chasing pack, with  Aled Hughes  2nd in 18.24, and  Alison Campbell  (Sheffield University) 3rd, and the 1st Lady with a great PB of 18.32.  With Alison claiming the top female place...
