Photos by Steve Jeffery.   https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk   Experienced GOG Triathlete Simon Cole took on the challenge against some very fast young students at Conwy parkrun last Saturday morning, and just managed to edge ahead of Harri Jackson and Jack Rigal in a sprint finish to claim the top-spot in just 16 minutes 58 seconds. Harri , who is now representing (Menai T&F), had been the previous victor for the past couple of weeks, but still won his SM20 age cat, but  this  time he had to settle for 2nd place overall, and he was just 12-seconds adrift of the MV40 cat winner, Simon in 17.11, with  Jack Rigal  3rd, and the 2nd SM20 athlete, despite a new course PB in 18.13.  Carla Green  (NWRRC), *pictured right - was back to her best and she was the 1st female runner home, in 17th place overall, in a superb time of 21.15, and also won her VW50

Photos courtesy of Mike Smith. https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk   Hot and humid was the order of the day at Conwy parkrun last Saturday, as a generous sprinkling of visitors, social runners, and top cub athletes took part in this 5k dash on a picturesque riverside course. Student Harri Jackson  (Manchester Metro University AC) was the first runner back for the second consecutive week, but this time he was 18-seconds down on his previous time, but he still finished well ahead of his nearest challengers, which included promising Prestatyn RC pair,  Andy Bromley  and  Alex Ryder. Harri’s  time was 17 minutes and 30 seconds, and he won his SM20 age cat, with  Andy  2nd overall in 18.10, and the first SM30 cat, with  Alex  third and the first SM25 cat in 18.16. Photos by Steve Jeffery. https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk   Two talented students competed for honours at Conwy parkrun last Saturday with Bryn Woodall (Colwyn Bay AC) eventually outsprinting his rival Harri Jackson (Manchester Metro University AC) to claim the first place with an incredible time of just 15 minutes and 54 seconds. Bryn , who is on leave from his studies in America, narrowly failed to match his record on this picturesque but challenging 5k course, but still finished over a minute clear to additionally win his SM20-24 age category.  *American student Bryn Woodall (*above) was the first man back home at the Conwy parkrun last weekend. Harri  was 2nd in the same age cat as Bryn in 17.11, with veteran  Bryn Carrington  claiming the 3rd spot, and winning his MV40 cat in 17.33. There were 229 finishers. For the l
