Photos by Steve Jeffery. https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk   There was a massive turn-out of some 54 athletes from the GOG Triathlon Club last Sunday for the Llanrwst Sprint Triathlon challenge with Grant Little and Simon Roxburgh both celebrating top podium places. The event - well organised by the GOGs - attracted 160 quality entrants for the T-1 swim, T-2 cycle and run, with  Llewelyn Edwards  finishing in 1st place, in 1 hour 7 minutes and 14 seconds, and he also won his senior men’s age cat title. Success for GOG athletes at perfect Conwy parkrun.

Most photos by Steve Jeffery.   Conwy parkrun welcomed two-hundred and twenty-six mixed ability entrants to their usual Saturday morning parkrun, which this week was staged in near perfect conditions. The fair weather seemed to attract a host of both club and social runners from far afield, and yet it was a highly promising young local athlete who eventually took the plaudits with a scintillating display to finish nearly thirty-seconds ahead of his nearest senior rival. Alfie Shiland  from  Colwyn Bay AC  enjoyed a superb run to finish 1st overall in just 18 minutes and 45 seconds to additionally win his JM11-14 age category.  David Murray  was 2nd in 19.12 with  Will Williams  from North Wales Road Runners 3rd in 19.28. The Ladies event  was won by NWRRC athlete  Carla Green  in 8th place in 20.08, with  Alice Johnston  (Les Croupiers), 2nd female and

Eight GOG Triathlon members ran in the Conwy parkrun last Saturday morning and claimed seven podium places including three age category wins. Josh Keogh ( NWRRC), claimed his 10th win at Conwy and his 5th consecutive victory, finishing in 17 minutes and 32 seconds, which was some 27-seconds ahead of teenage rival  James Smith  (Menai Track & Field), who was 2nd in 17.59, and  Osian Griffiths,  3rd in 18.35. For the Ladies  Anna Drinkwater  (Eryri Harriers) was the 1st female runner home in 7th place overall in 20.47, and  Ella Grundy  (Colwyn Bay) finished 2nd, and in 19th place overall in 22.49, with  Cheryl Frost  (NWRRC) 3rd in 23.09. Despite a freezing cold day and a waterlogged and puddle-filled course, all the GOG runners still recorded some excellent times especially considering the challenging conditions with  And

Reports by Simon Roxburgh and Don Hale.   GOG Triathlon club enjoyed a good day out at the Conwy half-marathon with twenty-two athletes involved and claimed several PB times and a deserved age cat podium place . Dan Wellings  was the first GOG runner back finishing 31st overall with an impressive PB of 1:24:58 and he finished 5th in his age group . Other results included:   Mark Davies  1:29:04 ;  Paul Garstang  1:32:57 and 3rd in his age  cat;  Chris Beardmore 1:36:31;  Andy Jones  1:37:28;  Rob Price  1:38:31, and a great new PB by 4 mins!   Steven Owen  1:39:33;   Chris Morris 1:39:45 ;  Paul Algieri  1:41:47 ;  Tom Simpson  1:43:28 ;  Lizzie Irvine  was the first female GOG home with 1:45:59 ; Nicola Tomlinson  1:54:01 ;  Phil Tracey  1:56:11 ;  Paul Martin  1:57:47 ;  Tony Phelan  2:04:26 ;  Scott Garner  2:04:26 ; Tom Bancroft  2:05:53 ;  Paula Stevens  2:07:27 ;

Report by Don Hale.  https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com   GOG Triathlon runners packed well at Conwy parkrun last Saturday despite preparations for the Conwy half-marathon the following day and claimed four podium places including three second place finishes. Many of the parkrun finishing times however, probably reflected the preparation needed for this tough challenge around the Great Orme just 24-hours later and included tackling the usual rather soggy and puddle-filled 5k course. Lizzie Irvine  led a team of seven GOGs members home with another superb display as the 5th female runner, in 32nd place overall in 23 minutes and 18 seconds to finish 3rd in her VW35 age cat.  Gareth Jones  (*pictured below right) finished 50th in 24.38, with  Sarah Gallacher  53rd, and 2nd in her VW40 age cat in 25.06. John Farrell  ran well in 60th place in 25.23 with  Clare Parsley  6

Report by Don Hale.   GOG Triathlete Paul Garstang enjoyed a good run out at the Bangor half-marathon last Sunday and crossed the  finish line in 1 hour 35 minutes and 7 seconds to take 1st place in his MV 55-59 age group. Also competing in the same event were  Billy Thomas , who bagged a PB with a 1.42.15 and  Steve Dutton  who finished in an impressive 2.04.17. Meanwhile in the  Bangor 10K  GOG Triathlon Club had a number of participants, taking part. Tom Simpson  46.04 ,   Phil Tracey  49.59 ,  Liz Evans  54.01 , and  Joshua White  59.15 .
