North Wales athlete and popular sports coach Tony Price-Jones has just reached a very challenging target of running 100 miles during March to help raise essential funds for Mind UK, and mental health support.

For the past few weeks, Tony has been seen pounding the streets, promenade, and hills around his hometown in Llandudno, with a determination to support such a worthy and charitable cause.

And last weekend whilst running with his wife Hayley, he finally reached his milestone, but he has now opted to continue with his gruelling efforts, in order to clock-up as many miles as possible during this period, and to help boost his fundraising appeal!

Tony explained: “I decided to run 100 miles throughout March in aid of Mind UK, which has become a very important part of my life over the past few years. My goal was to raise a minimum of £150, but other donations are still welcome, as every donation, large or small, helps Mind to continue to provide essential information and support to anyone who needs it.

“I've just hit 100 miles, with the final run shared with my wife Hayley. The feeling was amazing to hit my target, but I will now keep going to see how many miles I can record during March.

“I would like to thank my running colleague Steve Poupart for the many runs he has joined in with me to complete this challenge, and my thanks to everyone who has already donated to a lovely charity, as all the money raised during March will be donated to Mind UK, because no one should face a mental health problem alone.”

*Tony is a well-known local athlete, and he helps to coach an enthusiastic squad of mixed ability runners, including many members of Dalzell Runners, each week, along with his fellow coaches, Jonathan Kettle, Dave Jones, and Hayley Price-Jones

They meet on Llandudno promenade, just opposite ATS, each Wednesday at 6.20pm, ready to start at 6,30. It's completely free, and runners of all ages and abilities are welcome, and they use their Facebook page to post information about the sessions.
