GOG Triathlete Paul Garstang enjoyed a good run out at the Bangor half-marathon last Sunday and crossed the finish line in 1 hour 35 minutes and 7 seconds to take 1st place in his MV 55-59 age group.
Also competing in the same event were Billy Thomas, who bagged a PB with a 1.42.15 and Steve Dutton who finished in an impressive 2.04.17.
Meanwhile in the Bangor 10K GOG Triathlon Club had a number of participants, taking part.
Tom Simpson 46.04, Phil Tracey 49.59, Liz Evans 54.01, and Joshua White 59.15.
Andy Jones was the only GOG at the Ras Y Mynnydd 5-mile fell race in an strong 42.30, taking 4th place overall.

The GOG Triathlon Club now have their very own innovative podcast. Club member Simon Roxburgh confirmed: “The club run their very own GOGcast with monthly interviews with club members and people involved in endurance sports from the wider public. 

“I did the first two episodes a few years back - an interview with Rhian and then Adrian Leonard - but ran out of time to do more. Fortunately, John and Michelle Farrell have picked up the baton and have recorded a further eleven episodes!”

Report by Don Hale.  donhaleblog.blogspot.com/2025   Sam Griffiths  was the runaway first finisher at the  Conwy parkrun  last Saturday where they welcomed 209 club and social athletes, including many visitors from around the UK. The Welsh Master athlete   who is a member of  Meirionnydd RC  finished in 10th place overall and celebrated a great run in 2 hrs 36 mins and 26 seconds and also won his VM50 age cat. Report by Don Hale.  donhaleblog.blogspot.com/2025   There was a massive turn-out of over 500 quality athletes for the Abergele 5k and 10k races held on the town’s promenade on Sunday, which was well organised by RunWales. Despite some wind and rain, both events attracted a wealth of elite, club, and social runners and the 5k race set a hot pace with the first 15 finishers all dipping under the 20-minute mark including the first two female athletes! And just 20-seconds separated the first six finishers! In the 10k race, the first 14 athletes ran under 40-minutes, with some close times between the top six places, and the first female athlete was almost three minutes ahead of her nearest rival.
