*GOG triathlete Paul Garstang (*pictured above) won his MV55 age cat at Bangor half-marathon...and all the latest news about the monthly GOGcast.

GOG Triathlete Paul Garstang enjoyed a good run out at the Bangor half-marathon last Sunday and crossed the finish line in 1 hour 35 minutes and 7 seconds to take 1st place in his MV 55-59 age group.
Also competing in the same event were Billy Thomas, who bagged a PB with a 1.42.15 and Steve Dutton who finished in an impressive 2.04.17.
Meanwhile in the Bangor 10K GOG Triathlon Club had a number of participants, taking part.
Tom Simpson 46.04, Phil Tracey 49.59, Liz Evans 54.01, and Joshua White 59.15.
Andy Jones was the only GOG at the Ras Y Mynnydd 5-mile fell race in an strong 42.30, taking 4th place overall.

The GOG Triathlon Club now have their very own innovative podcast. Club member Simon Roxburgh confirmed: “The club run their very own GOGcast with monthly interviews with club members and people involved in endurance sports from the wider public. 

“I did the first two episodes a few years back - an interview with Rhian and then Adrian Leonard - but ran out of time to do more. Fortunately, John and Michelle Farrell have picked up the baton and have recorded a further eleven episodes!”

Dear Conwy parkrun community, We wanted to update you on the work going on behind the scenes to get Conwy parkrun back up and running.  It has been fantastic to see, from our Facebook page, the Conwy parkrun community enjoying their Saturday mornings at other parkruns, far and wide – but it would be even better to have everyone back in Conwy. We wanted to take this opportunity to update you on the progress we are making. As you know, the work on the path between the RSPB nature reserve and the railway bridge forced us to pause our parkrun while the path was resurfaced. It’s great to see that this work has been completed on time, and it does look fantastic. Unfortunately, at the same time that this work began, we were made aware of concerns from parkrun HQ regarding the adequacy and safety of our car parking. It seems that records at Penrhyn Castle parkrun are more like London buses, with nothing for ages then suddenly two come along at once. This well organised event was also run in conjunction with the  North Wales Regional 5k championships  and overall it attracted over two-hundred elite, club, and varied ability runners from across the area and beyond. Report by Don Hale.  https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com   Penrhyn Castle parkrun attracted 317 entrants last Saturday including visiting athlete Sara Ismail-Sutton (Durham City Harriers), who was not only the 1st finisher overall, but she also smashed the female course record on her debut in 17.45. Despite the cool and blustery conditions Sara beat all her male rivals with ease, and was eventually followed by  Aidan Thomas  in 18.30, and VM60 veteran  Graham Bale  (Plymstock RR), who gave Aidan a hard chase in 3rd spot in 18.33. Quite remarkably, the first three female finishers were all debutants, and with Sara taking the top-spot overall, the 2nd female place was taken by  Anna Patrickson  (City of Salisbury), in 21.56, with  Patricia Ronksley ( Stragglers), 3rd in 23.09....
