Race 4 Life runners raise welcome funds for Cancer Charities

Well done to all the local runners who took part in the recent Race 4 Life 5k and 10k races for important Cancer Charities. The latest event was held in Rhyl on a very breezy weekend.

This is just a brief mention of some of the many competitors and charity fundraising entrants who took part at Rhyl. Intro by Don Hale.

*NWRRC member Helen Hannam - pictured right - said: “My third Race 4 Life 2026 in Rhyl marks my 8th Year of Smashing Races to Smash Cancer. Very happy that I managed to run it all, but my injury seems to be ok now. Thank you as always to chauffeur and photographer extraordinaire Lee. Very happy with my sub 30 minutes for 5k after my injury, in 29.32.”

*Mandy Owen said: “Cancer Research Race for Life 10k done. Awful headwind for the second half but pleased with 1.09.23.”

*Josie Davies: “All done and dusted, the Rhyl 5k completed another lovely but emotional day of running alongside so many others supporting Cancer Research, raising funds, and trying to find a cure for this horrible disease which affects so many of us.

“Jordan ran in a great time of 28 mins well proud of him, and Phil did great in 41 mins in the heat with a blister, but he never gave up. If anybody wants to sponsor them it’s for The Osbourne Trust who have been a massive support to us as a family over our cancer journey and loss of Gef. Well done to every single person who took part today and who continue to raise money, l hope and pray that one day a cure will be found.”
