*The busy start at the Llandrillo yn Rhos parkrun last Saturday with some dramatic actions till to come on the dash to the finish.

It proved to be yet another exciting and very close start and finish at the Llandrillo yn Rhos parkrun - with the top three athletes all battling it out over the final kilometre - before Conor Davies and Michael Corrales, eventually held on to keep James Yarwood and his famous double twin buggy in third place!

Connor had an outstanding 5k run in just 16 minutes and 53 seconds, with Michael second with a new course PB in 16.59, and James (Wrexham AAC) a close third in 17.00. 

*The first female finisher was Elin Jones in 20.13 (18th overall) in 20.13, with JW11-14 athlete Savannah Williams a close second with a new course PB in 20.22, and visitor Cherry Moger (Sinfin RC) was 43rd in 22.26. *There were 409 finishers at Rhos.

*NWRRC had nine members involved including: Steve Gardner 5th with a new course PB in 18.12;  Will Williams -  pictured above right - won his VM50 age cat in 10th place in 19.03; Steve Mason was 46th with a new course PB in 22.43; Daniel Hennell was 54th in 23.00. 

Kay Hatton - pictured right - finished 2nd in her VW60 age cat in 70th place in 23.41; whilst Nia Lister was 140th in 26.35; and master vet Don Hale won his VM70 cat in 167th place in 27.19. Meanwhile Charlotte Rose Wilton-Jones was back in action, and she finished in 255th place in 30.32, with Gethin Wyn Jones 257th in 30.37. 

*Some other local runners included: Darren Dentith 38th with a new course PB in 21.48; Daniel Owens and his guide Steve Poupart 103/104th in 25.16; and Peter Johnson was 191st in 28.15. *GOG Triathlon: Andy Jones 35th in 21.10; Wendy Trelease 115th with a new course PB in 25.41; Ashleigh Tomlinson 128th in 25.57; and Dinah Hazeldine 375th in 41.39. 

*Colwyn Bay AC: 31st JM10 Dylan Williams with a new course PB in 21.05; Rebecca Downs 47th in 22.45; Molly New 154th with a new course PB in 27.02; and JW11-14 Charlotte Owens 284th with a new course PB in 32.15. *Porth Eirias Runners: Pedro Gaspar 67th in 23.34; Alan Hackett 203rd in 28.29; Paula Crutchley 297th in 33.06; and tail walker Kevin Edge 390th in 48.50.

*Conwy: Simon Cole (GOG Triathlon) was the first man home at the Conwy parkrun in 17.21, and James Williams (Lymm Runners) took the second spot in 19.02, with visitor James Ferrant (Pitsea RC) third in 19.17. *Anna Drinwater (Eryri Harriers) was the first female finisher (5th overall) in 19.50, and Lauren Evans was second with a new course PB in 22.08, with Siobhan Watson 3rd in 23.31. *There were 181 finishers at Conwy.

*North Wales Road Runners entered four members with Paul Aubert 13th overall in 21.48 and 3rd in his VM45 age cat, with Richard Scamans 23rd and 2nd in his VM50 cat in 22.58; whilst super vet Sandy Johnston made a welcome return after injury in 26.34, and he won his VM75 cat, with fellow super-vet Mike Hayton 95th in 29.42, and he was 3rd in the same age cat as Sandy. 

*Some other local runners at Conwy included: Rhys Pugh 19th in 22.39 and 2nd VM40; Simon Nixon 26th, and he won his VM65 cat in 23.14; with Amanda Durber 83rd in 27.33; and John Stallard 84th in 27.46. 

*Colwyn Bay AC had two runners at Conwy with young Josh Mottram winning his SM18-19 age cat in 9th place in 21.29, and Ian Taylor finished in 38th place, and 3rd in his VM55 cat in 24.22. *Porth Eirias Runners had three members involved with Jasper McQueen 10th in 21.35; Barry Palmer 46th in 24.39, and Nicola Evans 67th in 26.33. *GOG Triathlon’s top four finishers were Simon Cole 1st in 17.21; Jan Feeley 4th with a new course PB in 19.32; super-vet Liz Evans 59th, and she won her VW75 cat in 25.47; whilst veteran Liz McIndoe was 156th in 36.47.

*Prestatyn: Local soccer star Aaron Dodwell was back to his best as the first finisher at the Nova parkrun last Saturday in a good time of 18.00, but it was a close encounter with John Myers (Helsby RC) second in 18.11, and visitor Chris Jones (Wallasey) third in 18.15. 

*The first female finisher was Katie Parry (7th overall) with a new course PB in 20.29, and Eve Manifold (Prestatyn RC) was second in 22.31, with Annmarie Riley (Penny Lane Striders) a narrow third with a new course PB in 23.22. *There were 292 finishers at Prestatyn. *Prestatyn RC entered an amazing 22 members with Alex Ryder 4th in 18.41; Jamie Betts 18th in 22.15; and Eve Manifold 22nd in 22.31.

 

*Penrhyn: Jonathan Tyler (Betsi Runaways) was the first finisher at the Penrhyn Castle parkrun in 18.41, and Irish tourist Andrew Gann (City of Lisburn AC) took the second spot in 19.54, with another visitor in Finlay Price (The Peacock Firm) third in 19.58. 

*Eight out of the first ten female finishers were visitors including Fiona Boylan, who was the first female in 24.22, and she shared the exact same time as fellow visitor Emma Barker second, with Francesca di Palma third in 25.44. *There were 292 finishers at Penrhyn. *Some other local runners of note included: Arwel Lewis (Eryri Harriers) 23rd in 23.01; and Steffan Sayer (Menai T&F) 31st in 24.01.
