Bank Holiday visitors boosted parkrun numbers in the drizzle...

A large turn-out of Bank Holiday visitors mixed with regular runners and walkers in the drizzle at most North Wales parkrun last Saturday morning.
Some of these events also welcomed many participants from the 5k Your Way, Move Against Cancer group, plus representatives from several other notable cancer organisations for their regular monthly gatherings.
At Llandrillo yn Rhos, another bumper entry included many elite and club runners with seven out of the first ten finishers all debutants, and quite remarkably, the first eight all dipped under 18 minutes.
James Yarwood (Wrexham AAC) and his famous twin buggy claimed another fast-dash result, and he was the first finisher overall once again despite the weather in just 16 minutes and 55 seconds. After his run James remarked: “Finally recorded a sub-17 with the twins. My eye is now on the prize of 16.45 for world glory, and thankfully the buggy kept the twins dry.”
Visitor James Hamilton (Ballymena Runners) took the second place at Rhos on his debut in 17.30, with fellow debutant Ethan Wade (Ipswich Jaffa RC) third in 17.36. *Seven out of the first ten female finishers were all first-visitors, including the first three runners, with Emma Catherine Bramley first on her debut in 20.22, followed by Megan Griffith (Badgers) in 21.43, and JW11-14 athlete Lily Heywood third in 21.50. *There were 483 finishers at Rhos.

*NWRRC entered nine members and the team were led home by Steve Bozier 24th in 19.44 and he was second in his VM45 age cat, with Richard Scamans 64th in 22.44. Meanwhile, Kay Hatton continued her excellent form in 101st place in 24.01, and she was second in her VW60 cat, whilst Jenny Appleton won her VW55 cat in 110th place in 24.21.
And well done to Karen Butler, back at Rhos again in 113th place, and she won her VW65 cat and recorded a new course PB in 24.23. She was followed by Benjamin Brummitt in 133rd place in 25.25; and master vet Don Hale was second in his VM70 cat after celebrating his best time since May in 180th place in 27.05.
Sean Butler continues to impress with a determined run back towards fitness in 306th place, with a new course PB of 32.02, whilst Gethin Wyn Jones pushed his child buggy around the course in 416th place in 39.50.
*GOG Triathlon entered seven members at Rhos including: Simon Cole 15th in 18.59; Andy Jones 40th in 21.34; Ashley Tomlinson164th in 26.42; and it was good to see Michelle and John Farrell back running well and together again with Michelle 171st in 26.52, and John just one place a one second behind. *North Wales parkrunners new members: Darren Dentith 50th in 22.04; Andrew Roberts 76th in 23.05; Sharon Bowman 166th in 26.45; and Nan Roberts 250th with a new course PB in 29.10. *And Andrew and Nan Roberts also completed running all the North Wales 17 parkruns with a flag by the Rhos parkrun sign.
*Conwy: Liam Busby (Bedford Harriers) was the first man home at the Conwy parkrun with a new course PB of 17.02, and Harry Hammon (Bramhall Runners) took the second spot in 18.15, whilst Scott Bremner (Hoad Hill Harriers) was a close third in 18.20. *Four out of the first five female finishers at Conwy were debutants and Emma Knowles was first in 20.46, followed by debutants Jessica Roberts in 21.18, and young JW11-14 athlete Lula Grimes hot on Jessica’s heels, and just one place and one second adrift. *There were 191 finishers at Conwy.

*GOG Triathlon had seven runners involved at Conwy, and their first three and Stephanie Conwy 88th in 27.07, whilst Super-vet Liz Evans - *Pictured right - won her VW75 age cat in 98th place in 27.47. *NWWRC entered two members with Ceri Jones 130th in 31.12, and Steve Mason 189th, as a tail walker in 53.25. *Bethan Wyn Roberts ran for the new North Wales parkrunners group, and she was126th in 30.35, whilst John Stallard was 101st in 28.01.

*Prestatyn: Teenager Jack Reynolds was the first finisher at the Nova parkrun with a new course PB of 18.18, with Evan Lewissecond with another CPB in 18.43, and debutant Andrew Brauner third in 18.53. *The first female was Katie Parry (Leeds City) in 20.43; and she was followed by Eve Manifold (Prestatyn RC) in 21.51; and Abbey Young in 22.11. *There were 264 finishers at Nova.
*Prestatyn RC entered twenty members and their top four included Jamie Betts 5th in 24.46; Dafydd Montgomery 6th in 20.27; and Alex Ryder 18th in 21.43; and he was only one second and one place ahead of his veteran club colleague Marc Jones in 21.44. *There were also four members of the new North Wales parkrunners team involved and their first two finishers were Daniel Huws 56th in 24.46, and Jude Morton 151st in 32.29.
*Penrhyn: Phil Lynes was the first finisher at the Penrhyn Castle parkrun in 18.32, with Nicolas Seguin a very close second in 18.35, and debutant Adam Robertson third in19.09. *The first female was Catrin Donnelly with a new course PB in 21.11, and teenager Tamsin Seguin (Menai T&F) finished second in 21.14, with Rebecca Jones third on her debut in 21.38. *There were 79 finishers at Penrhyn.
