*Prestatyn: There was another good turn-out of 248 finishers at the warm but windswept Nova Prestatyn parkrun last Saturday, with local SM30 soccer star Aaron Dodwell recording a new course PB and sharing the exact time of 17.58 with JM15-17 Northern Ireland visitor and junior athlete Matthew Lamont, whilst Nic Brook (Eryri Harriers) took the 3rd spot in 18.26.

The first female finisher was Anna Drinkwater (Eryri Harriers) in 19.16, (6th overall) with club colleague Gemma Moore, hot on her heels with a new PB in 19.29, whilst Eve Manifold (Eryri Harrier) was 3rd with a new PB in 22.03. *There were 248 finishers.

Some Conwy on Tour members at Nova included: 17th Josh Mottram (Colwyn Bay AC) in 21.18, and he won his SM18-19 age cat, with his club colleague Ian Taylor 34th in 23.38. Steve Mason (NWRRC) finished 71st in 26.00, meanwhile Liz Evans (GOG Triathlon) was 74th, and she also won her VW75 age cat in 26.13, with master vet Don Hale (NWRRC) 86th, and 2nd VM70 cat in 27.35, and John Stallard 120th in 30.16.

*Penrhyn: Visitor Ben Toplis (Belle Vue Racers) was the first finisher at the Penrhyn Castle parkrun on his course debut in 18.03, with Andrew Douse 2nd despite a new PB of 18.14, and Nicolas Seguin took the third spot in 18.48. *The first female finisher was another visitor in Faye Clark (Abbey Runners/Leeds) in 20.39, and Rhiannan Amy Wilmot was 2nd in 22.41, and Ellie Evans (Cybi Striders) finished 3rd in 22.55. *There were 237 finishers.

*Some Conwy on Tour members at Penrhyn included: Steven Owen (GOG Triathlon) 12th in 20.42, Andy Jones(GOG Triathlon) 13th on his debut in 20.43, Laura Mckenzie (Betsi Runaways) 40th in 23.33, master vet Sandy Johnston (NWRRC) was 48th, and he also won his VM75 age cat in 23.59, with Gwyn Williams (Colwyn Bay AC) 61st in 24.59, Mike Pemberton 63rd and 2nd VM65 in 25.02, Sarah Ellwood and Liz McIndoe (GOG Triathlon members), who ran together in 194th and 195th places in 36.05.

*Some other Conwy Tour results around the UK: Whitby Park, at Ellesmere Port: Peter Johnson 50th in 27.28; Graham Sports Centre, Durham, Jonathan Kettle and family in 34.08; Coverham Enclosure, Forest of Dean, Ben Hudson finished in 24.30; and at Wepre parkrun, Stuart Culverhouse (NWRRC) finished 3rd overall with a new PB in 22.00, and his son Joe Culverhouse finished 2nd in his JM11-14 age cat with a good run in 11th place with a PB in 23.41, and he was just ahead of Darren Dentith in 12th place in 23.43, and he was 2nd in the same age cat as Stuart.

*Newborough: The first finisher at the Newborough Forest parkrun was visitor Seb Gillece, who enjoyed a great course debut in 18.09, and he was followed by Matt Parkes with a new PB of 19.06, with another debutant Dylan Robbfinishing 3rd in 19.28. *The first female was Catrin Donnelly (Eryri Harriers), 4th overall, with a new PB in 19.41, with Harriet Wingfield next in 20.20, and Claire Donnelly (Eryri Harriers), 3rd in 21.51. *There were 189 finishers.

Nearly 300 runners from past and present, together with numerous visitors, turned out to witness activities at this new start position, which is now half a mile away from the original start/finish, and situated about half-way down, and along the lower section of the Cob. Athletes set a hot pace in the heatwave at Penrhyn parkrun. Report by Don Hale. Most photos by Michael Finney. https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk   There was a good turn-out of nearly 300 mixed ability entrants at the Penrhyn Castle parkrun last Saturday despite scorching temperatures during this extraordinary heatwave period, including athletes from opposite ends of the UK. A large contingent of quality club runners set a hot pace right from the start over this roller-coaster of a 5k woodland course, with the first seventeen finishers all dipping under the twenty-minute mark, and the first finisher,  Rhodri Owen ( Meirionnydd RC), celebrated a great run in just 16 minutes and 7 seconds, and he also led home a clean sweep with club colleagues, who packed well and took the first five finishing positions. Response to Conwy Parkrun's potentially controversial statement about the latest behind the scenes activities... Report by Don Hale.  https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com Following the statement issued by Conwy parkrun officials on Thursday afternoon, it would now seem that their comments have attracted widespread controversy, confusion and much anger, with many volunteers and regular runners and supporters, demanding to air their personal views in response. *Carla Green from NWRRC was the first female finisher at Nova. Hot, humid and windswept at Nova’s Prestatyn parkrun...plus other parkrun results round-up... Report by Don Hale. https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com It was a very hot and humid despite a very strong and blustery wind at the Nova parkrun at Prestatyn last Saturday, with a generous attendance of some 255 mixed ability athletes and walkers, who all braved the refreshing sea breeze and sandy atmosphere. Two male visitors and course debutants grabbed their places in the top three as fast finishers with  Aaron Dodwell becoming the first male runner home on his debut in 18.44, with  Dafydd Montgomery  2nd in 19.17, and debutant  Harry Brewster  3rd on his debut in 19.30. The first female finisher was  Carla Green  (NWRRC), in 14th place overall, and she also won her VW50 age cat in 21.34. *The jubilant Welsh Masters team (*above) at the Swansea half marathon. Fifteen medals and a Welsh Record on a great day for Wales within the Swansea Half Marathon... Report and photos courtesy of the Wales team manager Bernie Jones. https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com   For the first time in a couple of years, the Master international events came back to Wales, and we were rewarded with a record number of top three finishers and a new Welsh Record by the ageless Swansea Harrier, Alan Davies, who broke his own M70 record with a great run of 81-51.    Phil Matthews, Parc Bryn Bach (M45), was first home in 5th place overall comfortably winning his age category. Along with Phil and Alan Davies.
