Martin Green led the North Wales Running team home at the Village Bakery half marathon race at Wrexham last Sunday with a very impressive display just days after returning from a family holiday.

Martin, who now has dual registration with Meirionnydd RC, recorded a fast time of 1.14.06, in 72nd place overall, out of 1,834 entrants, and he won his M50 age cat. Will Evans was another athlete in top form, and he was thrilled with his new PB time of 1.25.34 in 33rd place, whilst Martin’s wife Carla Green finished 3rd in her F50 cat in 506th place, and the 47th female, in 1.31.19. Karl Morris ran his fastest time since 2019 in 726th place in 1.39.33, and

Adam Lemalle was also delighted with his run following a bout of flu, and he was 793rd in 1.41.56, with Cheryl Frost 879th, and 4th in her F55 cat following a strong run in 1.44.55, together with her colleague Kay Hatton in 900th place in 1.45.30, and she was 5th in her F60 cat.
After the event, Adam Lemalle, said: “That was a quick half marathon course! I really enjoyed and said I would be happy with Sub 2-hour time after my bout of ‘flu, so very pleased with 1.41:56,” and Will Evans was another happy chappie, and added: “Wrexham Half Marathon today and ecstatic to get a PB time of 1.25.34.”
*The first finisher overall was Omar Ahmed (Birchfield Harriers) in 1.04.35, and the 1st female finisher was Conwy parkrunner Anna Bracegirdle (Salford Harriers), in 1.13.53.
