PEN FELL RACE RECCE RUNS.

Before the Pen race there will be a number of recce runs. They all start at 10.00 am and anyone wishing to join in must bring kit as per race, i.e. Fell or trail shoes, waterproof top and bottoms, hat, gloves, whistle and compass, spare food and possibly a drink.

All the runs are free are are led by experienced runners. We will run at the pace of the slowest runner with the emphasis being on route choice and not a fast time. We will meet at Capelulo Hall which is up the small lane to the right of the Fairy Glen pub.

Please do not park at Capelulo Hall and please show some respect for the residents when parking in the village.

Recce 1: Saturday 7th October.

Recce 2: Saturday 21st October.

Recce 3: Saturday 11th November.

Anyone that turns up will get a free water-resistant race map. There will be a small amount of map and compass work to help you find the best way across the bog. Each run will last up to three hours.

*Anyone who is unsure if they can complete the whole route is welcome to come with us to checkpoint 1 and return back by reversing the route out ( 10k, 300m of climb (approx), but there will be no run leader available to take you back (unless I find a volunteer).
