Bright and breezy for plenty of visiting parkrunners

There were plenty of visitors to a bright and breezy parkrun at Llandrillo y Rhos last Saturday morning with debutants claiming the first three male finishing places, and the first female spot.

Andrew Walmsley (Chorlton Runners) was the first finisher overall in 17.20, with Jack Kay (Sinfin RC) second in 18.18, and James Jones (Chester Tri Club) third in 18.31. Debutant Flo Hughes was the first female finisher in 19.46, and she was followed by teenager Elen Edwards (15th overall) n 20.38, with Laura McKenzie (Betsi Runaways) third, in 22.21.

*North Wales Road Runners had six members at Rhos with Cheryl Frost the club’s first finisher in 22.44, and she also won her VF60 age cat. Richard Scamans was next home in 23.04, and Steve Mason looked back to his best again in 99th place in 25.27. Darren Griss was 140th on his course debut in 26.54; and master vet Don Hale was 154th in 27.26, with Ceri Jones in 247th place in 30.51. 

*Colwyn Bay AAC had five members running with Josh Mottram their first finisher (29th overall) in 21.27, and he also won his SM18 age cat, with JM11-14 athlete Owen Mac 31st in 21.34. Rebecca Downs was 46th in 22.52, with Ian Taylor 67th in 24.05, and JW11-14 Charlotte Owens celebrated a new course PB in 33.37 in 300th place.

 

*Conwy: Teenager Joe Culverhouse (NWRRC) was the first finisher at the Conwy parkrun last Saturday and he also won his JM15-17 age cat, with a remarkable run in just 18.33, whilst SM20 visitor Peter Heard was second on his debut in 18.55, and veteran Robert Norman (Telford AC) was third in 19.41. *Abbie Robinson was the first female finisher (10th overall) in 22.00. with Mia Williams next and just 11-seconds adrift in 22.11, and Lottie Rowedder (Herts Phoenix) took the third spot on her debut in 22.38. *There were 148 finishers at Conwy.

*North Wales Road Runners had three runners at Conwy with Joe Culverhouse their first runner home overall, whilst Joe’s fatherStuart Culverhouse, was next in 23.39 and he was second in his VM50 age cat, and master vet Barrie Wells was third and won his VM70 age cat in 25.33. *GOG Triathlon had nine members involved and their first finisher was Jose Eduardo Vega Perez in 22.48; Jan Feeley in 23.00; and Andy Brazier in 23.04. And it was good to see Michelle and John Farrell back running together at parkrun in 26.23; along with super-vet Liz Evans, who won her VW75 age cat in 25.49.

*Penrhyn: There was a Fox and a Hare running at the Penrhyn Castle parkrun and they both finished third in their respective age cats for male and female athletes. The first finisher overall however was Tony Coyne (Belle Vue Racers) with a good debut performance in 18.07, but he was chased all the way home by Aidan Thomas in 18.13, and Jon Fox (Home Pierrepoint RC) on his debut in 18.24. *There were 183 finishers at Nova.

*The first female finisher at Penrhyn was Brooklyn Wright with a new course PB in 21.30, and she closely followed by Alex Buckley (Chorlton Runners) with a new course PB of 21.36, and debutant JW11-14 athlete Sofiya Hare in 21.42. *There were 229 finishers at Penrhyn.

*Prestatyn: Lois Lee was the first female finisher, and the first finisher overall at the Nova parkrun at Prestatyn with a new course PB of 19.14, and Adam Jones was second in 19.26, with Jonny Roberts third in 19.38. *The second female was Fiona Lanz with a new course PB in 19.14, and Sarah Kelly was third in 25.09.

*Eleven members of Prestatyn RC took part with Jonathan Puleston Jones their first runner back in 20.39, with Lewis Piercesecond in 21.05, and Paul Sanders was third in 22.51. And well done to VM75 age cat winner and super vet Graham Shone who finished 90th overall in 30.31 and won his VM75 age cat. *Nia Lister from NWRRC finished in 43rd place in 26.16 and she was second in her VW35 age cat.
