There were plenty of visitors at the bright and breezy Llandrillo yn Rhos parkrun including - two out of the first three male finishers, and the third placed female athlete - all making their course debuts.
Adam Jones was the eventual first and fast finisher with an amazing new course PB of 15.42, but he seemed to run side by side for much of the event with visiting rivals Daniel Kashi (Sale Harriers) and Gavin Thomas Stuart, who later shared the same finishing times of 15.45.
*Gemma Moore (Eryri Harriers) fresh from her midweek record-breaking success at the Mish Mash 5k, was the first female finisher in 18.26 (10th overall), with Ellen Baugh (Denbigh Harriers) second in 22.08, and Melissa Ward Williams (Cybi Striders) third on her debut in 22.39. *There were 434 finishers at Rhos.
*Some other notable local results at Rhos included: Meirionnydd RC members Martin Green 7th in 17.43, and he won his VM50 age cat, and Harry Driscoll 9th in 18.19, and he was second in his SM25 cat. Young Charlie Sheen was 35th and third in his JM11-14 age cat in 21.00; whilst Darren Dentith finished 65th in 23.17; and Mike Pemberton was 196th in 27.31.
*And two NWRRC members included – Richard Scamans 61st in 22.55; and super-vet Mike Hayton 234th, and he won his VM75 age cat in 29.15.
*GOG Triathlon had four entrants at Rhos with Stu Goldsack their first finisher in 50th place with a new course PB in 22.38, followed by Steve Owen 108th in 24.31; Ashley Tomlinson 172nd in 26.46; and Heidi Goldsack 307th in 33.30. *Porth Eirias Runners (PER) had five members running, and their first three were: – Pedro Gaspar 102nd in 24.25; Jasper McQueen 113th in 24.40; and Alan Hackett 298th in 32.35. *The event also welcomed members of the 5k Your Way, Move Against Cancer group for their monthly gatherings.
*Conwy: Just over 200 athletes and walker attended the revised Conwy course with Luke Lawson Healy claiming the first finisher place with a new course PB in18.20, with Dafydd Bryden second in 18.52, and Andrew Bruce third on his debut in 19.04. *The first female finisher was Anna Drinkwater in 20.36, and JW1-14 youngster Lois Evans took second place in 21.44, with Seren Woodall (Colwyn Bay) third in 22.04. *There were 210 finishers at Conwy.
*NWRRC entered four members with Paul Aubert 86th in 27.39; Hannah Griffith 87th in 27.44; and Steve Mason 123rd in 30.12; with Gethin Wyn Jones 128th in 30.58.
*Some other notable local results included: Gwyn Williams (Rhedwyr Hebog) 20th in 22.00; Colwyn Bay members Josh Mottram 28th in 22.50; and Ian Taylor 39th in 23.34. Arwel Lewis 42nd in 23.50; Simon Cole (GOG Triathlon) 46th in 24.09; 73/74th Michelle and John Farrell in 27.01; Amanda Durber 98th in 28.26; John Stallard 103rd in 28.44. *And from Porth Eirias Runners (PER): Barry Palmer 38th in 23.33; Nicola Evans 96th in 28.22; and Paula Crutchley 163rd in 35.36.
*Penrhyn: It was a double virtual podium finish for two members of the Seguin family at the Penrhyn Castle parkrun, with Nicolas Seguin the second male finisher overall in 18.46, and Tamsin Seguin the second female in 5th place overall. Jonathan Tyler (Betsi Runaways) was the first male finisher in 18.15, and JW11-14 athlete Savannah Williams was the first female on her course debut in 19.02, whilst Yvonne Templman was the third female on her debut in 21.01. *There were 212 finishers at Penrhyn.
*Prestatyn: Visitor Conor O’Neill was the first finisher at the Nova parkrun with a good time of 17.58, followed by Alex Ryder (Prestatyn RC) in 18.10, and Jeremy Pena on his debut in 18.29. *The first female was Kamaal Richardson (17th overall) with a new course PB in 22.55, and Heather White (West4 Harriers) took the second spot on her debut in 22.53, with JW11-14 athlete Freya Roberts-Howie hot on her heels in third place with a new course PB in 23.58. *There were 219 finishers at Nova.
*Other local runners of note at Nova included: Darren Griss and Ceri Jones from NWRRC, with Darren 47th in 26.08, and Ceri 68th with a new course PB in 27.31; and in addition, there were some extraordinary results by three Prestatyn RC members, including master and super veterans in Martin Corvriend 30th, and first M70 in 24.39; Mike Davis first M75 in 31.17; and Roger Harrison-Jones, the first M85 vet in 38.34.
