North Wales parkrun results round-up - plus Kevin has a spin around Oulton Park!

*Veteran athletes Kay Hatton and Mike Hayton (*above) both won their respective age cats with good times at the Penrhyn Castle parkrun last Saturday.
North Wales Parkun results round-up: plus Kevin Higgins in a spin at the Oulton Park race circuit.
Good number of visitors, first-timers and PBs at NW parkruns.
There were good numbers and numerous personal best times at most North Wales parkruns once again last weekend as hundreds of mixed ability athletes, including loads of visitors and first-timers, enjoyed the last of the summer events in the continued good weather.
*Penrhyn: Ewan Brown tore around the Penrhyn Castle parkrun last Saturday morning in an amazing new PB time of just 15 minutes and 49 seconds to additionally win his VM35 age cat. He was followed by Nicolas Seguin in 18.17, and James Coleman (Eryri Harriers) in 18.33.
The first female finishers at Penrhyn included: Mabli Bates (Eryri Harriers), 12th overall, with a new PB of 19.53, with promising JW11-14 athlete Lucy Delamere second (19th), with a PB of 20.47, whilst visitor Alex Bannister finished third (24th) on her course debut in 21.26. *There were 292 finishers.
*Kay Hatton and Mike Hayton from NWRRC, both won their respective age cats at Penrhyn with good times. Kay was the sixth female finisher in 59th place overall with a new course PB of 23.56 and she won he VW60 age cat, whilst super veteran Mike, won his VM75 cat in 29.05, and he finished in 156th place.
*Prestatyn: The Nova parkrun proved a hit with holidaymakers last Saturday and two out of the top three placings going to course debutants with Colin Latham (Dragon RC Sale) coming home first in 18.09, and Matthew Cox finished second, but he was just ten-second adrift in 18.19, with Alex Ryder (Prestatyn RC) third in 18.56.
Eighteen members of Prestatyn RC took part with four runners in the top ten, including Alex Ryder third, Jonah Armstrong sixth in 20.30, and rivals Marc Jones and David Ellis shared the exact same time of 20.52, with Marc ninth, and a new course PB, with David tenth.
*The first female finisher was Kayleigh Williams (23rd overall) with a new PB in 22.51, with Sion Jones second (37th) with another PB in 24.11, and visitor Ceri Jones (City of Salisbury A & RC), took the third spot (49th), in 24.57. *There were 263 finishers.
*Newborough: Just over 200 athletes enjoyed the Newborough Forest parkrun where visitor Joe Godwood (Witney RR) ran a very good time of just 17.16 on his course debut, with Chris Towers (Chester Tri Club) second in 19.58, and another visitor in Alice Wright (Sale Harriers) third on her debut in 20.21. With Alice taking the first female spot, second place (20th overall) went to Ceri Stewart (Canicross/Anglesey) in 22.34, with Katy Nelson in close pursuit (21st) in 22.45. *There were 204 finishers.
*Nant y Pandy: The name of the first finisher at the Nant y Pandy parkrun remained unknown at the time of writing, but in second place was Lloyd Williams (Cybi Striders) in 19.19, with Phil Lynes a very close third in 19.21. *The first female finisher was Heather Brown (8th overall) in 20.50, and Felicity Elliott came second (11th) with a new course PB in 21.22, and visitor Claire Thompson (Derwent Valley RC) was third (29th) with a new PB in 24.44. *There were 125 finishers at Nant y Pandy.
*Llangollen: Jonathan Tyler (Betsi Runaways) was the first finisher overall at the Old Railway Trail parkrun at Llangollen on his course debut in 18.08, and he was followed by Joe Murphy, second in 19.18, and Matthew Sharp third in 21.09. *The first female finisher was Louisa Williams (9th overall) with a new course PB of 21.45, with Ruth Jefferissecond (13th) in 22.33, whilst JW11-14 athlete Grace Hughes (Wrexham AAC) took the third place (16th) in 22.47. *There were 139 finishers at Llangollen.

Oulton Park: North Wales Road Runner Kevin Higgins enjoyed his spin around the Oulton Park race circuit in Cheshire, last Sunday, when he competed in the popular 5k race. The veteran athlete also won his VM60 age cat with a good time of 27.38.
