North Wales Road Running Club members maintained their recent top form and returned in numbers to the Conwy parkrun, where they packed well and recorded nine podium places, including one event win, four age category wins, four second placings, and one third.

*Martin and Carla Green (*above) both won their age cats and Martin was also the overall winner at the Conwy Parkrun last weekend.

A team of fourteen athletes also included talented newcomer William Williams who finished 7th overall on his debut and 3rd in his MV45-49 age cat with a great new PB of 19 minutes and 17 seconds.

The parkrun event however was won by Martin Green, who again won his MV45-49 cat in a superb time of 17.16. Richard Eccles ran well and finished 5th and won his MV55-59 age cat in 18.52.

*Richard Eccles (*above) won his MV55-59 age cat at Conwy.

It then proved a very close encounter with just a few seconds separating the next three club runners including John Dalzell 16th in 21.03, and Steve Roberts just two-seconds adrift and 2nd in his MV55-59 age cat, 17th overall in 21.05, whilst Carla Green was just another second behind Steve in 21.06, but Carla won her VW50-54 cat, and finished as the 2nd female athlete.

*A close finish for John Dalzell (*above) with just a few seconds separating three athletes last Saturday.

Gethin Wyn Jones enjoyed another fine run in 19th place, and he was 2nd in his MV35.-39 cat in 21.18, with Sean Butler 2nd in his MV60-64 cat and 33rd overall in 23.11. In addition, master vet runner Don Hale won his MV65-69 age cat with a steady performance finishing 52nd in 24.42, and newcomer Nicola Wylie, who is training hard with Helen Hannam, finished 63rd overall in 25.20, and claimed 2nd spot in her VW 50-54 Cat.

*Tony Gibson (*above) made a welcome return to parkrun following health problems.

And it was good to see Tony Gibson back in action again following ill-health in 81st place in 26.32. Helen Hannam also returned to parkrun amidst her extensive marathon training and finished in 104th place in 28.41, and Sue Smith collected another age cat win, with victory in her VW55-59 group in 105th place in 28.45, with her husband Mike Smith 143rd in 31.18.

And well done to Zoe Roberts, who persuaded her son Nathan to take part in his first-ever parkrun. Zoe finished 177th place in 34.59, whilst Nathan quite remarkably completed the course in just 31 minutes!

*It was a fast pace at Conwy Parkrun with the first nine runners all dipping under 20-minutes, and recording five PBs, and the first three finishers included: Martin Green (NWRRC) 1st MV45-49 in 17.16, 2nd Carl Shawcross (Medway Tri) and 1st MV50-54 with a PB of 18.22, and 3rd was Daniel Wellings, 2nd in his MV45-49 cat, and another PB in 18.34. Meanwhile, popular RunWales event organiser Chris Yorke made a rare parkrun appearance and finished 4th overall in 18.41. There were 211 runners.
