Talented junior athlete recorded a fast finish at a busy Rhos parkrun...plus a results round-up...

It was another busy Saturday morning at the Llandrillo yn Rhos parkrun with over 400 mixed ability runners and walkers finally celebrating an open route along the picturesque promenade.
JW11-14 youngster Finlay Potter (Warriors Pentathlon & AC) was the first runner home with a new course PB in a superb time of just 16 minutes and 54 seconds, and he finished narrowly ahead of James Yarwood (Wrexham AAC), who pushed his double stroller child buggy around the course together with his twins in 17.09, with JM15-17 George Ledsham third with a new course PB of 17.25.
And quite remarkably, the top six finishers all dipped under 18-minutes! *Gemma Moore (Eryri Harriers) was the first female finisher in 18.29, with JW15-17 athlete Lois Evans second in 20.08, and Elin Jones third in 20.18. *There were 410 finishers at Rhos.
*Young Finlay Potter (*above left) was the first finisher at Rhos parkrun, with Gemma Moore, the first female finisher, and (*right) James Yarwood, who ran the course with his twins in a baby buggy and he still finished second overall.
*North Wales Road Runners entered nine members with promising young athlete Joe Culverhouse once again leading his club team home in 5th place overall, with a new course PB of 17.51, and he was second in the same age cat at Finlay.
Stuart Culverhouse finished well in 19th place in 19.59, and he was second in his VM50 age cat, whilst Cheryl Frost also remained in good form in 44th place, and she won her VW60 age cat with a new course PB in 21.59. And fellow vet Kay Hatton finished 98th in 24.21, and second in the same cat as Cheryl.
Marathon man Mal Preece finished 116th in 24.59, with Helen Hannam 151st with a new course PB in 26.38, and master vet Don Hale was157th and 2nd VM70 in 26.45. Elizabeth Driscoll recorded another very notable course PB after running with her cuddly dog Winston again in 207th place in 28.46, and Hannah Griffith was 212th in 28.55.

*GOG Triathlon had eleven members involved at Rhos with Andy Jones 28th in 20.58; and Steve Owen and Graeme Tunstall finished together in 22.18 in 54/55th places, with Graeme also claiming a new course PB: whilst colleague Angie Hughes also recorded a new course PB in 231st place in 29.36.
*Porth Eirias Runners (PER) entered three members and they each recorded new course PBs, with Pedro Gaspar their first finisher in 22.30; and Kevin Baines was 150th in 26.32, whilst Zara Parry was 200th in 28.19.
*Some other local runners of note at Rhos included: Colwyn Bay athletes Josh Mottram - *pictured right - (21) in 20.10, and Ian Taylor (31), with a new course PB in 21.17; Martin Green (Meirionnydd RC) who was 43rd in 21.57; Darren Dentith(51) in 22.10; Andrew Roberts (93) in 24.04; Mike Pemberton (131) in 25.41; and well done to super vet Jack Thomas(Buckley RC) who won his VM85 plus age cat on his course debut at Rhos in 327th place in 35.21.
*Conwy: Visitor Ed Slaughter (Porthcawl Runners) recorded an excellent new course PB as the first finisher overall at the Conwy parkrun in just 16.13, whilst Andrew Moore was second in 17.30, and Jack Thompson third on his debut in 18.16. *The first female was Amelia Grice on her debut in 20.32, with Alice
Horsfield second with a new PB in 21.04, and Abbie Robinson third in 22.06.
*NWRRC had two members involved at Conwy with Richard Scamans - *pictured below right - 20th in 22.26, and Steve Mason 140th in 48.28. *GOG Triathlon also had two runners and Jose Eduardo Vega Perez finished in 19th place in 22.13, with super-vet Liz Evans winning her VW75 age cat again in 54th place in 25.48. *There were 143 finishers at Conwy.
*Penrhyn: Visitor Joshua Chamberlain (Retford AC) was the first finisher at the Penrhyn Castle parkrun with a good debut time of 17.40, and he was followed by Aidan Thomas in 18.01, and JM15-17 athlete Adam Parrett on his debut, and he was just four-seconds adrift in third place, with the first eleven runners all dipping under 20-minutes.
*The first female at Penrhyn was another first-timer in Joanne House (Southampton AC) in 19.08, and JW11-14 athlete Fiona Horne claimed second place in 21.04, with Laura Bell (Winston AC) third on her debut in 23.07. *Some other local runners of note included: Arwel Lewis (Eryri Harriers) 45th in 22.46; Steffan Sayer (Menai T&F) 51st in 23.13; and Laura McKenzie (Betsi Runaways) 93rd in 25.50. *There were 324 finishers at Penrhyn.
*Prestatyn: Local runner Alex Ryder (Prestatyn RC) was their first finisher at the Nova parkrun in 18.21, with teenager Jack Richards second in 18.59, and Evan Lewis third with a new course PB in 19.22.
*The first female (11th overall) was Lisa Lines (Prestatyn RC) in 23.39, but it was a very close finish with Erin Thomas second, who was just one place and one second behind, whilst visitor Eve Hart (Ramsbottom RC) took the third spot in 24.15. *There were 209 finishers at Nova.
Erddig: Mike Hayton from NWRRC ran 34.58 at the Erddig parkrun with his dog Daisy and he finished 2nd in his VM75 age cat. Mike that is - not Daisy!
