A quartet of ladies from North Wales Road Runners enjoyed some great performances at the NW Regional cross-country championships held at Treborth, Bangor last Saturday.

Cheryl Frost collected a prestigious gold medal after winning her W60 age cat whilst finishing 20th overall in 28 minutes and 38 seconds, and Kay Hatton was third in the same age category as Cheryl, and she won a bronze medal in 30.13.

Karen Butler was also on top form, and she won a silver medal after finishing second in her W65 cat, and she was 28th overall in 30.28, with Gwen Charlton performing well in 40th place, but she narrowly missed out on a medal in her W35 cat after finishing 4th in 34.41.

*There were many plaudits also to super vet Liz Evans (GOG Triathlon), *pictured right, who won her W75 age cat after finishing in 32nd place in 31.49. *The NWRRC female masters team were also 4th overall in the final team championships table.

*New date night for orienteering event on Conwy's ancient streets..

The new Conwy Urban Night orienteering event that was postponed from last week due to the icy conditions has been re-arranged for Thursday 15th January.

This unique challenge will explore the ancient medieval streets of Conwy. Organisers confirm: “We're exploring Conwy’s ancient streets for this one. And it's going retro- pen, paper and clues only! No map run. I've got a series of clues- both educational and non-educational for you to gather around town. Think treasure hunt, but the pot of gold is a lamp post!
