MUCKERS by Eamon Kavanagh:

This is the true and often dramatic life story about a very popular northern lad, Eamon Kavanagh, from the busy market town of Bury, and it follows his numerous ups and downs over many decades, including his early career as promising young footballer with Manchester City, which unfortunately became marred following abuse from a trusted football coach.

MUCKERS highlights how he somehow managed to slowly, but successfully, rebuild his life, despite many emotional setbacks, and the loss of family members and friends, to eventually ‘Live the Dream,’ during his eventual retirement to travel, and to fully appreciate the community support of his MUCKERS – his best mates – who have all helped to put the world to rights!

And as Eamon later explains, often in the darkest of times, the love of his mates, and his dog, plus chats and many unexpected friendships with some extraordinary locals, has finally changed his life for the better, and he now enjoys regular walks and occasional cycling expeditions, to admire the splendour, history, and beauty of his spectacular, and surrounding Lancashire countryside.

Eamon also added: ‘This book is a tribute to the luckiest generation to ever walk this earth, and it also contains many photographs of several local Bury characters who are now sadly lost to us.
