Seven age cat wins at Conwy parkrun for the Road Runners...plus other race results from Wilmslow 10k and Betws trail races.

The Road Runners enjoyed another good day at Conwy parkrun last Saturday and celebrated with an amazing seven age category victories.

Josh Keogh repeated his fine win from last week with another solid performance to run home in 1st place yet again in 17 minutes 37 seconds, to additionally win his SM30 age cat, with tourist athlete Jack Chubb (Watford Joggers) taking the 2nd spot in 18.14, and teenager Oscar Evans (Vegan Runners) finishing 3rd in 18.30.

Ten NWRRC members took part and collected eight podium places including seven age cat wins. 


Steve Mason gave the top three runners a good chase however, but eventually he had to settle for 4th place overall in 18.45 but won his MV45 cat.

Carla Green (*pictured left) finished in 14th place overall and she was the 2nd female runner home in 21.16 and won her VW50 age cat. Cheryl Frost was the 4th female finisher and ran well in 26th place overall to win her VW55 cat in 23.16.

Stuart Culverhouse enjoyed a steady run in 38th place in 24.12, and Rob Fryer continued his excellent form to win his MV65 cat in 40th place in 24.21. 

Dave Spofforth running with his young son Ben claimed 63rd place and he also won his JM10 cat with a great new PB of 26.11, meanwhile, master vet Don Hale was a bit off colour but won his MV70 age cat in 27.23 in 71st place, whilst Rachel Morris finished in 110th place in 31.49. Praise was given to the race director and to all the volunteers and marshals.

*Wilmslow Festive 10k: Two NWRRC athletes competed at the Wilmslow 10k race last Sunday and both recorded new PBs with Will Williams finishing in 228th place in 37.53, and Kelly Alford enjoyed another good run in 1,491st place in 49.56.




*Will Williams and Kelly Alford both claimed new PBs at the Wilmslow 10k.

*Betws y Coed Trail racesCai Roberts finished 29th in last Saturday’s half-marathon event in 2 hours 15 minutes and 50 seconds; Gwennan Charlton ran in the 10k race and finished in 33rd place overall in 1.21.22; and in the 10k Canicross race, John Ford made a welcome return to action and competed with his dog Blue finishing in 5th place overall and he was also 3rd in his MV50 age cat in 55.41, with club colleague Hannah Griffith running home with her dog Fred in 45th place in 1.20.
