James and the twins starred again at a busy Rhos parkrun - plus a results round up from other NW events.

There was another bumper attendance at the Llandrillo yn Rhos parkrun and at mist other NW parkruns last Saturday, with over 500 runners and walkers enjoying the warm sunshine and the picturesque 5k promenade course.
The almost ever-present athlete and his twin buggy in James Yarwood (Wrexham AAC) - pictured right - was the first finisher yet again at Rhos with a determined performance in just 17 minutes and 4 seconds, and he was only just ahead of Mark Pemberton, who recorded a new course PB in 17.11, with JM15-17 athlete Eben Jones third in 17.52.
The first female was well-known athlete Laura McKenzie (Betsi Runaways) in 64th place in 22.12, but it was a very close finish with Laura just one-second and one place ahead of keen local rival Rebecca Downs (Colwyn Bay AAC), and Toni Crook, with claimed a new course PB in 22.35. *There were 503 finishers at Rhos.
*NWRRC had six members involved including: Paul Aubert 45th in 21.33; veteran Karen Butler was welcomed on her course debut in 121st place in 25.18, and she won her VW65 age cat; with Tony Price Jones 183rd in 27.33; and master vet Don Hale 208th in 28.20 and he was 3rd in his VM70 cat. And it was good to see veteran Len Jackson back at parkrun in 228th place in 28.43; whilst the evergreen Mike Hayton finished well in 282nd place, and he won his VM75 age cat in 30.23.

*Colwyn Bay AAC had four members running with Josh Mottram winning his SM18 age cat in 20.41 in 30th place, and Rebecca Downs was 65th in 22.13; Ian Taylor 84th in 23.24; and Molly New finished176th in 27.21. *The GOG Triathlon trio included Steve Owen 12th with a new course PB in 19.01; Andy Jones was 41st in 21.20; and Andy Brazier 66th in 22.20.
*Some other local runners worthy of mention included: Simon Nixon (Denbigh Harriers) 68th in 22.26, and he won his VM65 age cat; and well done to birthday boy Mike Pemberton who just 24-hours after reaching the masters age category, won his new respective VM70 age cat in style in 26.09; and he was just ahead partially sighted athlete Daniel Owens and his guide Tash Doran-Jones (Team Runna), with the pair finishing together in 26.22.

*Conwy: Fell runner Josh Keogh was the first man home at Conwy parkrun in just 17.17, and he was chased by Sam Ashton on his course debut in 18.09, with JM15-17 athlete Matthew Kemp (Wellingborough & District AC) recording a new course PB of 18.34 to take the third spot. *The first female was visitor Rachel Morgan (9th) in 20.30, and she was followed by Alice Johnston (Les Croupiers) in 21.07, and Mia Williams in 22.39. *There were 225 finishers at Conwy.
*NWRRC entered three members with master vet Barrie Wells 56th in 25.07, and he won his VM70 age cat; with super vet Sandy Johnston 76th in 26.14, and he won his VM75 cat; whilst another master vet in Rob Fryer took the second VM70 place in 27.36. *GOG Triathlon had four runners including Jan Feeley (40th) in 24.19; with super vet Liz Evans 63rd, and she won her VW75 age cat in 25.35; whilst Peter Woodhouse was 135th in 29.59, and Liz McIndoe 188th in 36.42.

*Penrhyn: Visitor Jack Lax (Yeovil Town RRC) was the first finisher at the Penrhyn Castle parkrun in just 17.35, with Iolo Owen the runner-up in 18.51. *The first female was JM11-14 athlete Alesha Santos on her debut in 20.46, with Ellin Haf (Eryri Harriers) second in 20.49, and another debutant in Rachel White third in 22.24. *Will Williams from NWRRC was 5th and he won his VM50 age cat in 19.18. *There were 273 finishers at Penrhyn Castle.
*Prestatyn: Aaron Dodwell was the first finisher at the Nova parkrun in 17.37, and first timer Connor Attwood was second in 18.00, with Tony Wood (Denbigh Harriers) third in 18.09. *The first female was Hayley McEwan (Esporta) in 22.12, with Marie Watson (Ilkley Harriers) second in 22.54, and JW11-14 athlete Freya Roberts-Howie third in 23.46. *Prestatyn RC entered 29 members and the top three were: (16) Alex Ryder 21.05; (17) Robert Grima 21.49; and (18) Jonah Armstrong in 21.52. *There were 353 finishers at Nova.
