The Clydach murders, which occurred in June 1999, and for which Morris was convicted in 2006, was a case which shocked the nation. Attractive divorcee Mandy Power, her disabled bed-ridden mother and Mandy’s two young daughters, were viciously battered to death with a four-foot solid metal pole for no apparent reason. 


Then, the house was set on fire in an attempt to destroy evidence which might have led police to the perpetrators. Author and former solicitor John Morris, together with investigator and co-author Paul Dalling, have scrutinized every aspect of the case. 


They uncovered an almost-incredible story with a shocking unexpected twist. The case involved a government–led conspiracy where the stakes were unimaginably high, and which demanded that the true identity of murderers must be concealed, 

and a scapegoat found to take the blame for the crime. 


No forensic evidence or DNA connected Morris to the murders; he was convicted because he lacked a solid alibi, his gold neck-chain was found at the crime scene, and lies he told the police.

Report by Don Hale.  donhaleblog.blogspot.com/2025   There was a massive turn-out of over 500 quality athletes for the Abergele 5k and 10k races held on the town’s promenade on Sunday, which was well organised by RunWales. Despite some wind and rain, both events attracted a wealth of elite, club, and social runners and the 5k race set a hot pace with the first 15 finishers all dipping under the 20-minute mark including the first two female athletes! And just 20-seconds separated the first six finishers! In the 10k race, the first 14 athletes ran under 40-minutes, with some close times between the top six places, and the first female athlete was almost three minutes ahead of her nearest rival. Report by Don Hale. donhaleblog.blogspot.com/2025   Popular North Wales athlete and parkrunner Gareth Southworth continued his running exploits in Australia over the weekend by competing in the Melbourne half-marathon on Sunday. Gareth, who was representing   Cybi Striders , is enjoying a break ‘Down-Under’ with his wife Kath and enjoyed a good run in 1 hour 43 minutes and 56 minutes, and he was 15th in his VM60-64 age cat (1773rd) overall amongst over 12,154 finishers.
