The ‘Pocket Rocket’ in the impressive form of Juliet Sidney, the popular website chief of Welsh Masters Athletics, was on fire at the British Masters Indoor championships last weekend, at Lee Valley, despite feeling somewhat under the weather, where she still struck gold in her sprint events.

She explained: “A great day at the British Masters Indoor Champs. W55 200m gold. Struggling with a cold but really happy with my race. Good catching up with masters, friends, and competing, and a seasons best time too!
“A double British Champion w55 60m, and 200m. One very happy pocket rocket! Wonderful to meet up with so many amazing masters friends. Truly an inspirational bunch. I feel proud to be part of this awesome community.
“Dedicating these wins to the Bridges clan. Tough times. Love you guys so much. Back again next week for the inter-area. Big shout out to @elite82high for getting me in shape to perform at this level even when not well. Big shout out to my partner in crime Fiona Steele and to Brett Davis for pushing me in training.”

*If anyone else has a report from the championships, or would like to share their success with fellow masters, please let me know, or put something on the WMAL Facebook page?
