Welcome result for Kinmel Bay FC against Llandyrnog

KBFC (2) v Llandyrnog (0) @ Y Morfa 30 March 2024.

 

The game was a chance to put right the dreadful result in which we lost 2-0 against Llandyrnog a few weeks back.

 

We pressed Llandyrnog straight from the off having a lot of the ball we worked it well through the lines in which a lovely ball was put through from Nyal Hughes who found Tate Walker on the edge of the box Unfortunately the shot went wide.

 

Chances are now being created by Llandyrnog to have a couple of shots of their own which didn’t really trouble our Debutant goalkeeper Charlie Jones.

 

In the 26th minute a lovely laid off through ball from Connor Morris to Oli Gray it was adjudged by the referee that Oli was brought down in the box 

 

The ref having no choice but to award the penalty up stepped our leading goal scorer Connor Morris to dispatch the penalty calmly into the bottom corner.

 

Llandyrnog had a couple of half chances towards the end of the first half with the bay keeper making some fine saves to deny the visitors.

A change at half time seen Mason Richards depart for Cory Owen. It mostly carried on the same as the first half with chances for both teams to score only for the keepers at both ends who we’re pulling off some great saves. 

 

Oli Gray, Connor Morris and Haydn Rutter all going close for the bay who just couldn't squeeze the ball over the line. 

 

Nyal Hughes had a thunderous strike from 25 yards out only for Llandyrnog s keeper Ryan Bennett to pull off a stunning save.

 

The game was wrapped up in the 67th minute when Oli Gray assisted by Tate Walker rounded his man and slotted the ball home.

 

This allowed for changes to be made for Kinmel Bay to see the game out. 

 

Connor Craig replaced Tate Walker, Tyler Oakley-Evans replaced Oli Gray, Chris Evans replaced Connor Morris and Morgan Williams replaced Nyal Hughes.



 *We now have a couple of friendly games lined up against Glan Conwy and Penrhyn Bay before we are back in league action to complete our last league game of the season against league favourites Cerrigydrudion on the 20th of April, before we play the Cookson Cup Final against Llandudno Junction on the 27th at Denbigh Town Football Club.
