Mac Mckechnie lives in Barnsley, in the wonderful County of South Yorkshire England, although originally was born in Ripon North Yorkshire.

His early years were spent in the Army which he joined as a boy soldier in

1965. He retired from the Army in 1979, eventually settling back in Yorkshire, where he sadly divorced, but he is immensely proud of his two daughters from that marriage, even though he doesn't see them as much as he would like to.

This year (2024), marks the 30th wedding anniversary to his dear wife Maureen and is surrounded in the vicinity by stepchildren all grown up now, of whom he is equally proud, and a bunch of happy Grandchildren makes family life with Maureen by his side a rich God given everyday blessing.

Mac worked for several charities during his working life, mainly in senior management roles within the care sector in the community.

Mac has a few hobbies, he is a family man at heart, is a member of the organisation u3a, where he devised the sport of Walking Cricket, and introduced the sport New Age Kurling to Barnsley.

Mac has always been interested in Sci Fi from reading the virtual pulp fiction of the 60's to later, the masters of the genre.

*Star-Bound is the first of a series of books about the pioneering spirit ever present in a select few who are determined to reach outwards to Worlds unknown. Keep your eye out for new books "Revenge on Keplar" and "Hope of Mankind," which with this book "Star-Bound," make up the trilogy as they are published.

Seasons of Faith by Mac McKechnie

“Seasons of Faith” is a compilation of examples of several years of writing articles for community magazines, and extracts from sermons written likewise over a few years.
It was always intended that this little volume would be a "pick up and dip into" book to add encouragement through our journey through the seasons of the year, as well as Life itself.
