Paul Brooks from NWRAC, has announced several notable records recently. He confirmed: “In 2007 Marilyn Kitching set an F35 NWRAC best in Farndon of 37.12. That has stood for 16 years - until recently, when Tracy Rogers equalled it at Wilmslow. And Tracy has recently collected a Team Manager’s award for the 'Most Improved Athlete 2023'. Well deserved. Many congratulations Tracy!"

“And Gordon Jones (Prestatyn) ran a superb 1.25.14 at the Caernarfon half marathon on 10th September last. In doing so, he set a new NWRAC best for M65, breaking Cliff Wilkinson's previous record of 1.29.54, which had stood since 2000 at the Lake Vyrnwy half marathon. Congratulations Gordon!

“While I was updating the NWRAC road rankings, I also saw that Emyr Davies (Hebog) had set a new M80 10km record at the Caernarfon 10km in August. He ran an amazing 47.55, breaking the previous best by Eddie Naisby of 55.07 set back in 2009.

“Emyr now has the fastest 10km times in M65, 39.46, M70, 43.12, and M75, 46.32. He is also in 2nd spot for M60, 36.31. Congratulations Emyr.”

And Welsh Athletics team manager Bernie Jones has also added some additional information about another record breaker: "Emma Crowe who ran 37-02 at the Swansea 10km in 2013 when she was 40. She also ran 37-05 at the Leeds Abbey Dash 10km that year as well, but was 35 when she did 37-12, so Tracey equalled her W35 record."

New Welsh Masters javelin record.

Welsh Masters Athletics have also confirmed that M65 vet Wynne Howe (SC Vets) set a new Welsh Masters record for the outdoor javelin with a throw of 33.40m at Gillingham on 17th September this year.

Chris Pruski from WMAL said: “On behalf of Welsh Masters Athletics Limited it gives me great pleasure to confirm your performance as a New M65 Javelin Record of 33.40 metres. Please find attached a certificate in recognition of your achievement. This will appear on the WA website in due course.”
