The Eirias Triathlon and Duathlon -  New 2025 event for Always Aim High... https://alwaysaimhighevents.com/ Latest news and updates:  https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com   We are thrilled to announce the addition of a new pool triathlon and duathlon to our 2025 event calendar: the  Eirias Triathlon and Duathlon.   Traditionally, our season kicks off with the  Harlech Sprint Triathlon and Duathlon , a beloved event in the town of Harlech for over 20 years. And some great action photos by Barry Griffiths.   Kinmel Bay welcomed Brickfield Rangers to Y Morfa on Saturday the 21st both teams have made a fantastic start to the season both being unbeaten with one draw each.  Bay where quick out of the blocks pressing Brickfield all over the pitch not allowing them any time to settle. Report by Don Hale. https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk   A quartet of Road Runners tackled the tough and very hilly Beaumaris 10k race on Sunday and claimed three podium places including two age cat wins for the ladies. Cheryl Frost  and  Kay Hatton  hit top form again with Cheryl the 5th female and she also won her F50 cat with a fast time of 48 minutes and 41 seconds, but Kay gave Cheryl a good chase and she too won her own F60 age cat in 49.57 as the 8th female.  For the lads, veteran  Len Jackson  and master veteran  Mike Hayton , also gave a good account of themselves with highly credible efforts. Veteran track athlete  Steve Gardner  from North Wales Road Runners turned his hand to the parkrun this week after setting records in recent national and international overseas championship events, and he led home a team of fourteen club colleagues to finish in 5th place overall in 19 minutes and 31 seconds, and he also won his VW60 age cat. *Stuart Culverhouse (*above left), with his son Joe, and Steve Bozier. Report by David Gibson. https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk   The Swansea Bay 10k is a well-loved event that has been going nearly as long as the London Marathon, and the 2024 set of races held on Sunday 15th September was the 43rd edition. Unlike last year which was wet, the weather this year was good for running with only a bit of a south westerly breeze working against the runners on the outward leg. Whilst the 10k race is the headline element of the day, there are also other races encouraging all members of families to take part. These are a 1k for youngsters seven and under; a 1k for 8 to 11-year-olds, a 3k for older children, and a 10k wheelchair race, which was won by Owain Terrell of Disability Sports Wales in a time of 31:05. Report by Don Hale. https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk A trio of NWRRC members took part in the   Abersoch half-marathon   last Saturday with  Stuart Culverhouse  coming home first for the club in 28th place overall, out of nearly 300 entrants. And he also celebrated a new course PB and finished two-minutes quicker than last time in 1.33.35 and he was 3rd in his M50 age cat.  Super-veteran  Sandy Johnston  confirmed his pedigree with a superb result of 1.42.26 to win his M75 cat with a new PB in 62nd place, whilst  Gwen Charlton  ran well in 2.20.44, and she was 260th overall, and the 86th female finisher. After the race Sandy said:  “Just ran a huge over-75 PB at the Abersoch half after 10 days ...

Report by Don Hale. https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk   Three North Wales Road Runners won their respective age categories last Saturday morning at the Conwy parkrun amongst a good turnout of nearly three-hundred visiting club and social runners. Richard Scamans  was the first NWRRC member home with another determined display, and he was back to his best in 20th place and finished 3rd in his VM55 cat in 21 minutes and 44 seconds, with  Steve Roberts  in close pursuit and finishing 24th in 21.57, and he won his VM55 cat. Club entries were down this week with just eight starters at the RSPB Nature Reserve due to either runners recovering from last week’s races, or preparing for other fixtures, but the results included: -  Harry Driscoll,  who had a steady run finishing 29...
