Good performances by Steve and Dave Gardner at the Menai Open events - plus lots of other great results.

Report by Don Hale. https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk   Road Runners S teve Gardner and his father - super-vet Dave Garner - both competed in the midweek  Menai Sprint challenge  last Wednesday night. Steve ran in both the 200m and 400m events, whilst Dave set a new PB in the veteran’s shot-put competition. After the events, Steve confirmed:  “Just a note to let you know that my dad and I competed in the Menai evening events, with dad achieving a new shot put PB, and I was very pleased with my 200m and 400m performances. “ Dad won 1st place in the shot-put in his MV80 age cat, with a throw of 7.09 to set a new PB record, and I completed the 200m in 29.05, and was 2nd MV60 cat, and I finished 1st MV60 cat in the 400m in 1.03.63.”   Other race results: RACE 4 LI

ROHAN'S RUN SPECIAL: Hundreds of runners raised thousands of pounds for Children's Cancer Charities at Rohan's Run on a sun-drenched evening at Deganwy.

Report and exclusive  photos by Don Hale. https://donhaleblog.blogspot.com www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk The Deganwy Dash, now known as Rohan’s Run, attracted nearly 350 finishers on a warm, and sun-drenched evening from Deganwy promenade last Friday night, with many thousands of pounds, raised by local athletes for essential Childrens Cancer Charities. *Some of the North Wales Road Running team (*above and below) at the start of the race. Report on the Welsh Masters half-marathon International v England at the Great Manchester race.

Masters Half Marathon International England v Wales Great Manchester Half Marathon Sunday 26th May 2024.   Report and photos  courtesy  of the Welsh Masters team manager Bernie Jones. The second of this year’s Masters Road Internationals was held within the Great Manchester Run Half Marathon and a small team (once again compared to England’s huge team) turned up in Manchester City Centre and achieved the best results we have so far in any of the Master internationals that we have held in the past three years.  This time the Team competition was in 10 year age groups with Wales having teams of 6 from ages 35 through to 65+. Whilst Wales were never going to trouble England in the overall Team result, we did manage to get amongst the individual medals with some great runs.   Tom Roberts, Meirionnydd was again first home for Wale
