The 30th anniversary run of the popular Nick Beer 10k memorial race proved another huge success last Sunday and gave a massive and very welcome fundraising boost for a variety of charities. This spectacular annual event attracted nearly six-hundred finishers and recorded a host of excellent results despite the blustery conditions, including top female athlete Sara Willhoit, who smashed the women’s course record! Apart from many runners enjoying this race and returning to action after many turbulent months due to Covid-19 restrictions, the race and its associated Fun Run also raised thousands of pounds for St David’s Hospice and the Llandudno Lions Club charities, plus a host of individual good cau

Fundraising 1k Fun Run for St David’s Hospice on Llandudno prom at Nick Beer 10k memorial race. Report by Don Hale.    St David’s Hospice will be staging a fundraising 1k fun run for children just before the start of the Nick Beer 10k race on Sunday 13th February. The event will be run along Llandudno promenade and all  participants will also receive a medal. This event is part of the Nick Beer 10K road race which now commemorates its 30th year. The fun run is open to all age groups, and entry is just £5 which is payable on the day at the race HQ within Venue Cymru or via St David’s fundraising office (*see details below). All proceeds from the event will go towards St David’s Hospice. The Fun run start 11.30am in conjunction with the North Wales Road Runners. Registration starts from 10.30am at Venue Cymru.   NWRRC confirm that Nick Beer 10k and Fun-Run race raised £2,500 for St David’s Hospice and Lions charities... Report update by Don Hale. This year’s re-arranged Nick Beer 10k race in Llandudno helped to raise over £2,500 for local charitable causes. Event organisers North Wales Road Runners confirmed this week that donations including £900 from the 10k race income, and £500 from the children’s fun run have been handed over to St David’s Hospice, making a total of £1,400; with a further £1,100 donated to the Lions Club of Llandudno for their designated charities. *Pictured outside St David's Hospice with the cheque for £1,400 for the Hospice from the Nick Beer 10k and children's fun-run are (l-r) Carla Green, Kay Hatton and John Hatton.     

Josie’s 200-mile challenge for St David’s Hospice
